Fries had been sitting and were cold. Waiter was a kind teen who gladly brought out a hot fresh order after I told him. Still fries were not something I would order again either. A one and done visit for me.

During our week-long stay on the Big Island, we made a deliberate effort to patronize local, family-owned businesses, and our encounter with this burger establishment was particularly fortunate. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by live music and a spacious seating arrangement that accommodated both indoor and lanai areas. The burgers, prepared to our specifications, surpassed our expectations in terms of quality. In observance of my birthday, the staff demonstrated exceptional customer service by providing a complimentary burger. However, the limited parking capacity, with only a few spaces available in the front and rear, posed a significant challenge, nearly discouraging us from visiting and ultimately necessitating parking at Long's Drugs but other than that we had an amazing time

First time visiting Hilo, and after the drive from Kona we were starving. Googled Best Hamburgers in Hilo and Hilo Burger Joint was high on the list. Google was spot on, great burgers, cold draft beers and an excellent Arnold Palmer, per my wife. Service was fast and friendly and the burgers did not disappoint, not to mention the French fries were delicious as well. The atmosphere is old town hip, with a full bar and plenty of tables. Was the highlight of our day in Hilo.

We stopped by today for some burgers to go, burgers were a 5 star, fries were 3 stars, service was 5 star. Our server was amazing, she sat us down, brought us ice water, treated us to a lovely moment where she visited a very well behaved doggo at the next table, brought him some fries. They sent our orders in boxes, they were for seltzer I believe, very handy.
I had the Caprese Burger, Ciabtta bun, tasty burger, nice mozzarella, large tomatoe slice, very ripe. I'd have had it again for dinner if we were close. We are spoiled, we get beef from my first cousin and the ground beef is amazing. This patty was a close second. The Balsamic reduction was the kicker.
Really good food. Service was excellent. Large servings. My husband and I ordered a salad and the steak starter for our meal. Crispiest salad ever!!! Steak had a great flavor and we had onions and peppers instead of shrooms. Very accommodating.

Fantastic service and so many different types of burgers on the menu that its seriously hard to chose just one! We both had toss salad (instead of fries) with our burgers and that salad was as incredible as the burgers!

Got into Hilo town late evening and wanted a burger and HBJ did not disappoint. Wasn’t too busy so could wheel my wife easily into the restaurant. Will add to rotation when visiting Hilo.
