Hilo Siam Thai Ranahan is a gem in a sea of many, many Thai restaurants 1 per block in downtown Hilo, but this tiny authentic Thai cafe is underrated and only serves a few tables at a time..

We got the pad thai, yellow curry, and pad see ew. Also spring rolls. I'm sorry to say we were all pretty disappointed. The pad thai sauce had a cinnamon and almost ketchup taste to it...like they ran out of the true sauce. I eat thai a lot, and this was not pad thai.
Out of the three dishes, the yellow curry was okay. The spring rolls were also pretty good. The server was friendly, and the food came out fast.
