Incredible bar, definitely reccomend the loco moco it's a mountain of tater tots covered in bacon, onion, 2 smash burger patties, a fried egg, and all smothered in gravy. Definitely not for the faint hearted!

Great place! This place has a show of some sort ever time I went. The show was great, the food is great, and the staff is wonderful. The atmosphere of Hilo Tavern is very delightful and reminds you of hanging with family. I recommend this place!
Vegetarian options: I love that they have some vegetarian meals
Kid-friendliness: On some days they have kid friendly shows which is great!
We had the chicken strips with sweet potato fries and spicy bbq sauce. The sauce was soooo good. My husband had the cheese burger and he has a bit disappointed that the pickles were not dill, stated that ruined the whole burger. So something to consider. Other than that place was clean, server was friendly, good ambient.

Used to be cool New owners raised drink prices. Removed the gallery which was one of the main reasons I went. Fires cool bartenders. Banned dogs. And they have cameras everywhere and listen in on everything. Used to feel like a community spot but it's just not worth going any more.

Lava burger, slaw, hand cut fries and a glass of kona big wave. Live Hawaiian music in the background.... everything was awesome. The only issue is that when we got here, most of the tables outside were reserved, other than that it was super.

Tried their Lava Smash burger. Not that good. The burgers were not smashed. Just a double patty. Sauce was just blah. Fried crunchy onions were tough. Waffle fries were good. I'll try their ribs next time. Live music was awesome ? ??
