I had a fantastic dining experience at Jackie Rey’s Hilo, located in the historic part of Hilo and just a short distance from the waterfront! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck a wonderful balance between elegance and comfort, creating a refined dining atmosphere without any stuffiness. It is in an old bank and vault remains.
The cocktails were a highlight—creative and delicious, each one perfectly complementing our meal. I ordered the steak, which was incredible and perfectly prepared to my liking; it was tender and packed with flavor. The salads were also fantastic, fresh and vibrant, showcasing high-quality ingredients. The burgers that went by us looking amazing!
The quality of the food was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great prices for such high standards. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit. Plus, street parking was easy to find.
I highly recommend Jackie Rey’s Hilo for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a beautiful setting!

Carey was so much fun, attentive and kind. My Mom was visiting the island for the first time and I knew I had to take her here for the happy hour ribs. She also had a Mai Thai for the first time, loved it all! Mahalo Carey for taking such good care of us

Delicious food and the atmosphere was upscale. Unique building, seemed to be an old bank. Fish tacos were overflowing with fish; would have liked more seasoning on the fish and more of the pineapple salsa on top. Burger was cooked perfectly; an aoli or mayonnaise would have added some flavor. Highly recommend the chiffon cake; perfectly moist and not overly sweet.

Great place for fine dining with local flair. Love the ambience and the menu with Hawaiian flavors. Came here for dinner on 3/31/25 with friends. Ordered the porkchop, fish&chips, ribs. Really enjoyed the porkchop. Great drinks menu as well, the Mai Tai is excellent.
