Food was ok, but a bit lacking, especially for price (a total of 3 shrimp in the scampi).

This is located in the Hilton Doubletree.
This hotel is a water front hotel.
They even have a live band that plays at night.
I came to Hawaii for my birthday!
When eating at this restaurant I had the privilege of being waited on by Nicole!
Nicole was extremely awesome. She was kind, courteous and efficient.
Not only did she provide excellent customer service she even gave me great advice on some attractions in the area that I would otherwise not have known about!
I went to the Akaka Falls and boy was it a beautiful experience ♥️
Lastly, I enjoyed breakfast and lunch here and the food was delicious.
The presentation was excellent!
The atmosphere is serene as you can look out to the ocean while you eat and enjoy a cool breeze. And the prices are reasonable. They have culture specific dishes and options for those that may not be so open to trying new things….
Everyone here was so friendly and helpful and I am had an amazing time in Hilo!!
Thank you so much to the Hilton staff and to Nicole at the Ka Lihikai Bar ?♥️???
Sorry I forgot to take pictures of my food! I promise it was good
That’s why it’s gone ?

Overall a nice spot for breakfast/dinner. Service was typically good, but I did take off one star because it took about 20 min for someone to take our order the first morning we were there. Eventually the bartender Gabriel came out to take our order after noticing we had been sitting awhile which we appreciated. Live music in the evenings is nice and ocean views are spectacular.

Food was decent. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's very convenient if you're staying at the hotel.

Great atmosphere, right on the bay! The bartender/manager, Bobby, was very helpful and made a special mojito that was absolutely delicious! And the fish tacos were excellent!! Will be returning.

I was there celebrating my 50th birthday. So disappointed with the whole experience. I arrived after 4pm and was told my rooms were not ready and no idea when they would be. Once I did get the rooms, I noticed they were scheduled for two different check out dates. It took a half hour to straighten out. The manager told me that the problem looks like it was not entered properly by the Hilton reservations team. I finally got my family to our rooms an hour after starting the check-in process. While the manager was very nice, it was an awful experience at the front desk, especially for a milestone celebration. Over the two night stay, the staff we encountered was not friendly or welcoming. Example: I waited 20 minutes for someone to show up at the cafe in the morning to buy breakfast - I had inquired at the front desk about getting assistance after 10 min and was told I “just needed to wait” by the woman there, who did not even make any eye contact. There were several families waiting as well as mine, most of whom left because nobody showed up in a reasonable time period. In the evening, the bar staff were having a personal conversation for several minutes before making eye contact, then continued on with their conversation and laughter. I ended up leaving after not being asked if I needed anything. This was a horrendous experience with poor customer service and no Aloha spirit. I could not wait to check out and leave the property. I would absolutely NOT recommend this property to anyone. Don’t waste your money or ruin your vacation by staying here.
I stayed in a different hotel and still spent my three day weekend coming back each morning for the superior breakfast selection, service, and view. Absolutely no notes from this seasoned traveler. Keep it up, Ka Lihikai ohana!

We spent 3 nights at this resort during our recent Hawaii vacation. The resort is older, which we knew going in, but the staff we met were so friendly! Housekeeping did a great job each day and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the coffee, hot chocolate, juice, and warm cookies in the lobby. We also had dinner downstairs, and it was a great meal! We did valet our rental Jeep, and I'm so glad we did! The guys were wonderful, and we loved it was a covered area to get in and out of the Jeep from. All in all, we had a great experience!! We really loved the location and how easy it was to explore around the Hilo side of the island! If we return back to Hilo, we would for sure book here again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The worst experience in any Hilton. No one serves us after seating for 20 minutes. Keeps ignoring us even if they see us waiting for order breakfast. And see another couple just come in and sit and wait less than 2 mins and starts to order.
Don’t come here.

Great atmosphere. Ok food. Came for breakfast, had the Island Waffle with fresh fruits. The fruit and honey made it special and the waffle itself was uninspired. My girlfriend had the American Longboard, typical american breakfast, bacon was undercooked and hashbrowns were bland. Can't beat the view though.
What happen to Hula Hulas? Was here last month and now it’s a new restaurant in the Grand Laniloa Hotel. Menu looks similar to Hula Hulas but a bit different not the same local tropical vibe. Seems like and not sure if it’s affiliated with Hale Nani Ma Ka Lihi Kai Vacation Rental, but it’s Hilo, you get what you get.
