Love this place! Tons to choose from. I love how nourishing the food feels here. My favorite dish is the eggplant/tomato (Baingan Bharta). Love the samosas, pakora, and the little lentil crisps with tamarind sauce 😄 So many options here. it’s great to come with friends and get a few starters. I just wish they offered a vegan Thali (variety of dishes on a large plate) and not just a vegetarian one.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Best Indian restaurant in Hilo. Friendly and quick service. Less oily dishes.

Food was alright, customer service was fine and the overall restaurant was alright. It was the only restaurant open on the Christmas day and we were happy to get something to eat as everything else was closed. The restaurant can be better managed. The food can be improved as well. We liked the food we got. The mango lassi was ok.
We ordered the vegetarian Thali of which the green saag was good, pakoras which were very oily, mutter paneer was good, naan and kulcha were fine. The lentil soup was mild and decent.
While paying for the check, we were asked for tip when gratuity was already included.

My teenage daughter is a very picky eater, but when she tried Kamana's chicken Tikka Masala she fell in love. My ohana always comes for the Meat Samosa's, it is very delicious. The spices in each dish is so amazing. The employees are nice as well. Please go to the Hilo restaurant. Just note that they have a break between 3-5.

We got take out but the Aloo Jeera improperly cooked. Made us ill the next day. Food was ready when they said it would be.

We ordered takeout from here this past weekend and had a really bad experience. This was actually our second try, after a not great first experience dining in, and things did not improve.
First, our order was incorrect, since we ordered chicken makani and were given lamb instead. That’s a pretty big mistake, especially for people who don’t eat certain meats.
On top of that, one of the dishes with potatoes tasted off, like the potatoes were old. It was unpleasant enough that it raised concerns about the quality of the food.
To make matters worse, someone who ate one of the lamb dishes became very sick the next day, experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. While we can’t say with certainty that it was directly related, the timing was concerning.
Between the wrong order, questionable freshness, and the illness that followed, we won’t be ordering from here again.

To put it simply, it’s not worth it. The restaurant itself is dirty and has clear areas with need of repair. Namely, the booths, which are SO annoying to sit in! Anytime someone in the booth behind you moves, the entire seat moves on your side and basically pushes you into your plate. The food itself is mid and tastes like a microwave meal.

It is the only Indian restaurant in downtown Hilo. All Indians flock over here. All tables were full. There were only 3 people tending all guests. Most were just glad to have Indian food. The food itself was not bad. It tasted Ok. If you are in Hilo and are craving for Indian food, I would say go for it. You will not repent.

Very average restaurant. The flavors were underwhelming. Staff were friendly enough but a little passive.
Also, they didn’t have any chai which is wiiiiild to me.
I’d skip this restaurant if you’re visiting Hilo.

Probably the best meal of Indian food I’ve ever had. Their medium spice level was very pleasant. Not overly hot at all.
The food came out very quickly. My sister and I split several dishes between us and it was all fantastic.

Food was phenomenal! Staff had great recommendations and brought the food out super fast. Seriously so delicious, if I could try everything on their menu I would.

The food is delicious and well priced for the portions. Everything tasted very authentic and flavorful, and honestly just as good, if not better, than many Indian restaurants in San Francisco, where I’m from.
The building itself is a bit older, but it does not feel like a total hole in the wall. The bathroom can be hit or miss, though it was at least reasonably clean on the women’s side.
There were a lot of Indian customers dining here, which always makes me feel confident that it’s a reputable and solid spot.

Homestyle indian comfort food. Ordered yellow dal fry, kadai paneer and garlic naan. They were all delicious.
