Best pancakes! The three syrups are to die for. Macadamia nut pancakes with a little of each of those, I wanna crawl inside and eat my way out of it. Fluffy delicious egg omelettes. The service is wonderful. We were there for 10 days and ate at Ken’s three out of the 10. It probably would’ve been more if I had anything to say about it, but it was almost a 40 minute drive from our Airbnb. 100% worth it.
This is an "old school cafe" style, and that's the kind I really like. The omelet was giant and delicious, and to be honest, you could really share it! Coffee was okay, but not the best. I only gave the restaurant a 4 because it was good and I would eat there again, but it wasn't "knock my socks of" kind of good and that was where I put all my 5 stars at.

Service was great, staff was friendly but the food was pretty average. Just stuff that you could get anywhere and not special. Good place if you’re hungry and need something to eat but I wouldn’t go out of your way to come eat here.

Do not waste your time. Ken’s is the ultimate tourist trap. The service is terrible, food quality is poor and it’s overpriced. I used to come here all the time in the mid 80’s and early 90’s as a kid. I came back to show my husband a place I used to frequent as a keiki local Hilo girl. Not sure what happened but Ken’s is not what it used to be. The waitstaff are rude and unwelcoming, the food is ridiculously overpriced and poor in quality. I would advise against wasting your time and money here

Worth swimming from CA!
Best dinner in the Pacific with attentive welcoming staff. 20 mins from the cruise dock or 1-mile from the airport.
Two days’ calorie allowance on a single plate!

WOW! The service and true Hawaiian atmosphere are great. Top it off with some of the best home style food I have eaten, EVER! And you have Kens House of Pancakes. Make sure your order comes with pancakes or waffles and try some of the best homemade syrups from Hawaii. Its true the omelettes are three inches high! If your on the big island you have to go to Kens House of Pancakes. = )

First place we ate at, and the last place before we left to back home. Reminds me of a Denny's. Food was great as we're the Servers. Loved Hilo!!

I can tell this place has a ton of charm and is a local favorite. I ordered a Teri chicken salad and the salad was WAY overdressed. Drowning in Caesar. I’d definitely ask for dressing on the side in the future so I can dose it myself.
Also got a Teri beef plate. The tuna mac salad was bomb. Works well having tuna salad mixed in which is definitely a nice unique touch to make it “their” recipe.
Parking: The lot was getting pretty full but managed to get one fairly easily so it’s a good number of spots for the total number of seats in the restaurant.

Busy diner during lunch time, the ox tail stew was amazing, we came back for a second serving before we travelled home.
Massive serving of pancakes for 10.95 with 3 syrup options (coconut, guava or passionfruit), no complaints about the pancakes but the syrups were something else, would have loved to have the syrup over ice cream.
Looking forward to being back.

Bought a t shirt opened it and a roach was inside. I told the greeter and they gave me another shirt and didn't offer any compensation. The manager was called and he said we gave you another shirt that doesn't have anything to do with the food. But if storage has roaches so does the rest of the restaurant!
