Old style diner atmosphere. They have large portions and multiple syrup flavors for the pancakes. Hubby ordered pancakes, eggs, and sausage. Everything was cooked to his liking.

Overall, it’s a solid American Diner with a Hawaii twist. We came here several times while we stayed at a nearby hotel and we must have tried half the breakfast menu.Recommendation: We loved everything that had crab in it, and my partner and I agreed that the Eggs Benedict with Crab Cakes were the best eggs Benedict we had ever tried. Also try the different syrups that go with the pancake. My favorite was GuavaNon-recommendations: The Loco moco was disappointing, but it was one of the cheapest things on the menu

We ordered the snow crab omelette and it came with pancakes and rice. It was delicious. Also ordered the special which was clam chowder and a grilled tuna sandwich with French fries. The clam chowder was really good - lots of depth to the flavors. Nice server. Very friendly staff throughout the establishment.

Friendly environment. Surprisingly a cup of coffee was $4.50. Way too expensive for what you get.

Ken's is a must when you visit Hilo. I ordered the sumo pancakes with 3 eggs and bacon. I am a fat POS and I could not eat all the pancakes. It was the best breakfast I ever had!!

Wonderful local place in a great spot. The staff welcome you and you have a nice, simple meal for a reasonable price. I went back the following morning before my helicopter ride!

Drove over an hour to get here, only to find out they were temporarily closed and management didn't bother to update their hours on Google.

This is about quantity. They have a small gong they ring every time they serve a "Sumo" breakfast. These things are huge. Just the regular breakfast was big enough we took some home. There's usually a wait. The place is a little tired after so many years of so much traffic. It's a local icon for sure and worth the experience.

This is a MUST GO TO in Hilo especially during Merrie Monarch Week. The service is fast and friendly and the food is fantastic. The banana pancake and the macnut pancake with lilikoi syrup is just amazing.During Merrie Monarch Week everyone goes to Ken's to eat each of the nights. It's such a magical place. Lots of breakfast options.
