I ordered a piece of fried tempura udon. The udon looked like it came from a supermarket. The fried vegetable skin was very soft, and the fried shrimp was all made of dough.

Some food was good, some food was not good. this place is extremely busy! I think because the sleepy town doesn’t have much else.

In fact, we called for pick up and several times got a busy signal. You just have to be persistent. They do have reserved parking for pick up so that’s nice.

Supposedly they’re famous for laulau. But I didn’t like it. It was dry. However, there saimin was excellent. And their tempura was pretty good as well. nothing inside; just a normal restaurant.

Great restaurant my friend John from Hilo recommended for lunch on Thursday. Beautiful place, super clean and comfortable with a great Staff. Menu choices are plenty including Hawaiian food. We both had Teriyaki Burgers and fries, that not only arrived fast but was Ono grinds at a surprisingly low price. Imside Kuhio Grille the atmosphere is great and beautiful views of Hilo Bay to enjoy while you eat. A must go for anyone in Hilo, garanz you will enjoy it. For all my Local friends they already know about the 1 lb Lau Lau, and for our Tourists you have to try it. As we say in Hawaii when something is so delicious we call it Broke Da Mouth! Kuhio Grille fits the description perfectly.
