Great restaurant my friend John from Hilo recommended for lunch on Thursday. Beautiful place, super clean and comfortable with a great Staff. Menu choices are plenty including Hawaiian food. We both had Teriyaki Burgers and fries, that not only arrived fast but was Ono grinds at a surprisingly low price. Imside Kuhio Grille the atmosphere is great and beautiful views of Hilo Bay to enjoy while you eat. A must go for anyone in Hilo, garanz you will enjoy it. For all my Local friends...
The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. I got a chicken katsu donburi and my husband got the oyako donburi. We both agreed they put a lot of long rice in our bowls. It was so crowded with long rice I couldn’t get at the white rice underneath. The donburi had a lot of flavor and it tasted really good but my chicken katsu was half fat which I didn’t like.
I got a side of their fried rice, which was good as always and a snickers cheesecake....

In fact, we called for pick up and several times got a busy signal. You just have to be persistent. They do have reserved parking for pick up so that’s nice.
Supposedly they’re famous for laulau. But I didn’t like it. It was dry. However, there saimin was excellent. And their tempura was pretty good as well....
