We decided to try their spring rolls after watching a food video on YouTube. It was the best decision made. The spring rolls were the best we've ever had, crispy on the outside with very tasty ingredients on the inside. I think it was the taro that made the difference. They were so good that we re-ordered. We also tried the Bahn mi sandwiches and they were also delicious. The owner came out to greet us and we ended up having a very nice conversation. She was really friendly and cute. If you're on the Big Island, it's definitely worth it to try out this place. You won't regret it.

Cute food truck in a gravel lot with four or five other vendors. Cash only—but there is a gas station down the street with an ATM. Menu is small, but that doesn’t matter because it is all great! My husband and I agreed that this was the best bahn mi we’d ever had. The bread was crunch but soft, so you’re not destroying the roof of your mouth. We ordered ours spicy and the pickled jalapeños were perfect. It was a reasonable size for a human to eat—-not a massive gut bomb that so many people seem to think is a good idea. We got ours and took it to the beach and it held up great for the hour or so before we ate. Wish we had time to go again before we leave the island!

Oh wow, what wonderful food. The bahn-mi was wonderful, I had the bún salad and it was fabulous. I've been chasing the dragon of really great Vietnamese bún for a long time and this delivered bigtime. Go give it a shot and don't be afraid to ask for spicy.
Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian versions of their bahn-mi and bún salads. They even asked about mayo, so they do care that your food will be strictly vegetarian if you so desire.
This was one of the friendliest food trucks I’ve ever visited, and the food was excellent! My wife got a truly tasty banh mi, and my pork noodle dish was exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend!

BEST Vietnamese food on the island, run by the best aunties in town! Flavorful, fresh, and always quality. Everything is recommended, especially their Bahn-Mi and summer rolls. Located next to a beautiful beach park with eating benches available! Perfect grab and go meal. Get my lunch here everyday they're open and am NEVER disappointed. I'm usually picky on the spots in town I go to, and Le Yellow Sub is always at the top of my list as an option for food. It's even Guy Fieri approved!

Asked for medium and got it, flavors worked really well together, the bread was soft and lightly toasted so it didn’t cut my mouth up, close to the hotel.Neutral: would add more chairs. We had to sit on the coffee shop steps. Took a long time but I understand she makes it to order. Price.Cons: out of a lot of stuff, the lady is nice but when I see hands that look really dirty it doesn’t make me feel super great about the food I’m about to eat.All and all I would go back but not if I’m super hungry cause it’s just a sandwich.

I really wanted to leave a great review because I did think the food was amazing! Delicious and fresh but I had food poisoning after from what I believe was undercooked chicken (no other possible culprits). So be careful and check your proteins! Really hate leaving negative reviews for such a great business, but hopefully this will help them be more careful with food prep. My parents really enjoyed it though! And no food poisoning for them :)

The lady at the truck is super sweet and made everything fresh. Best food we have had for the best price. We got the Yellow sub with the lemon grass chicken and I would rate this place higher but I can’t!!!! Definitely stop by when in Hilo you won’t regret.
