This is my sister's favorite Mexican restaurant in Hilo, but my wife and I were unimpressed after 2 visits. On the positive side, excellent chips and salsa, very friendly service, and relatively inexpensive when compared to other local restaurants. Downside for us was that the dishes we had were bland and tasted the same. I tried a taco salad and a beef burrito and my wife had a chicken flauta and a chicken enchilada. The portions were generous but flavor seemed lacking to us.

The night bartender girl worst service ever, major attitude for no reason. I would highly recommend finding another place. 2 margaritas and 4 tacos $65! Over priced and terrible service.
Delicious Mexican food! The front of the restaurant has a bar but the back is a nice spacious family friendly restaurant.

Enchilada's were great. Best margarita's in Hilo. They use fresh lime juice instead of that lime sour mix you find in many restaurants and they are generous with the alcohol.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent . I believe our lovely waitress name was "Nail". I apologize if not correct spelling. She was very friendly and polite. The food also came so quickly, much appreciated for great food and service.

We love Anna, she is wonderful. The food is great, Carnitas plate is my husband’s favorite, street tacos, best french fries in Hilo, Nachos are da bomb, the Chorizo is on point and so tasty. Luquin’s is our weekly Tuesday lunch spot and we look forward to going every time and are never disappointed. All the staff are great, but Anna is top notch and makes us feel like family. No matter what you’re craving, Luquin’s has it and it will be delicious. We feel it is a great value for the quantity and quality, all the thumbs up.

We were on are way to the falls and wanted to stop by here because of how highly rated it was, and good thing we did!
We got the tostada, quesadilla , burrito, and huevos mexicanos which was a highlight. They also had great options for vegetarians, making it easy for everyone to order. The service was great and attentive, making sure we were satisfied, which we were!
Hands down! This is the BEST Mexican food on Big Island. They have 2 locations...Hilo and Pahoa town. If you have a chance and want some good grindz make sure you stop and test da watas!!! The Margaritas are MARGARITAS! THE staff is exemplary and the food is mmm mmmmm good! We had the wet burrito on this day and also the tacos al pastor are ligit!

I have always loved Luquin's restaurant. The original Pahoa location was stellar, sadly burned down. They relocated, in Pahoa, and the new location is still quality restaurant. We visited the newer HIlo locations a few months back. Everything was fine until our last visit June 23rd 2025. I decided to try something different, I ordered the beef nachos. What a HUGE mistake, when the plate was delivered to our table I was a little confused it didn't look like any other nacho plates I have ever had. I was a MESS, All the chips were smothered with beans, a spoonful of guacamole and sour cream. It was a sloppy eating ordeal. the worst part was, it was the worst tasting nacho plate I have ever tried. Taco Bell's nacho plate was 3x times more flavorful. Whoever prepared this dish should be fired . Not sure if these are new hires. I ate about a 1/3 of the plate. The waitress asked if I wanted a take out plate, I told her no. What a dining bad experience.
