This is my sister's favorite Mexican restaurant in Hilo, but my wife and I were unimpressed after 2 visits. On the positive side, excellent chips and salsa, very friendly service, and relatively inexpensive when compared to other local restaurants. Downside for us was that the dishes we had were bland and tasted the same. I tried a taco salad and a beef burrito and my wife had a chicken flauta and a chicken enchilada. The portions were generous but flavor seemed lacking...
Enchilada's were great. Best margarita's in Hilo. They use fresh lime juice instead of that lime sour mix you find in many restaurants and they are generous with the alcohol.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent . I believe our lovely waitress name was "Nail". I apologize if not correct spelling. She was very friendly and polite. The food also came so quickly, much appreciated for great food and service.
