Was really excited to try, but host made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Don't recommend to tourists.

Crossed the big island from Kona after a morning of caving and hiking. Found this place on google and happy to report the food was plentiful and amazing. We ordered fresh fish, two of the specials, chicken katsu. Plates included a large helping of rice and salad with a clearly homemade yogurt dill dressing. Happy to recommend!

Very average food, and it’s not cheap . Prices that they show on the web are significantly lower that their prices in the restaurant

Don't hesitate. Absolutely eat here. Our lunch was very delicious! I got the sauteed lamb dish and it came with sauteed veggies, side salad, and garlic rice. The lamb was amazing. My family got the shrimp curry and chicken pita and loved them.
Our server was very attentive and sweet. Great spot!

You have to eat here!! This place had the best food I have had so far on the entire island!! I had the garlic miso Ahi and it was perfection. Savory, slightly sweet and perfectly moist and flaky. The fish was served with a curry garlic rice to die for and one of the best side salads I've ever had, all in an awesome peaceful, down to earth Hawaiian atmosphere.

This place will be on food shows! Ask for the chefs table. Tell them the tall guy sent you. The lamb dish with garlic rice and falafel are next level!

It’s delicious. Don’t order the bowl that’s too small. There’s rice underneath. The fried pork cutlet is delicious, but the price of the fried pork cutlet is a bit high. Also, this store only accepts cash!

Is there a hole in the wall establishment that isn't a true dining experience? Puka Puka Kitchen is such an experience. The staff were friendly, the food was tasty, and the atmosphere was cozy. When you're out all day seeing the rest of the island, you just need a place to serve you something familiar and scrumptious. The curry was piping hot with all the right veggies; paired with a quality chicken katsu it made for a decent meal. Take a load off after wandering around the other shops nearby and treat yourself; satisfaction guaranteed.

Food is great, quick and tasty. Perfect place to grab food on the go. I got a little bento style container and a Masubi both were wonderful.
