Amazing market. High quality seafood! The staff is extraordinary friendly. We loved to get samples with a honest advice before purchasing it.
Very fresh and delicious poke! The staff was so welcoming and let us sample different poke before ordering what we wanted ! The fish was so fresh and flavorful! Must try
There are 2 eateries in this building: the Siusan Fish Market and Wailoa Grill right next to it on the other side of the building. Both are casual places for some of the freshest and tastiest seafood on the Big Island.
Suisan Fish Market is great for poke and fresh fish while Wailoa Grill offers excellent seafood plate lunches. Go for the daily special and the ahi katsu if you see those on the menu. Best ahi katsu I’ve had-very crunchy light batter and super fresh juicy ahi.
No-frills poke and sashimi destination beloved by locals at Hilo docks.
Economical and delicious 😋
I really enjoyed their poke and atmosphere. They had a BOGO special today for Ahi poke. Buy one pound, get one free. I wish I lived in Hilo, otherwise I would have done it! Driving back to Kona with 2 pounds of poke or eating it for 2 days while on a trip seems like madness.
The sesame shoyu and spicy
Ahi were good!
Unfortunately (blessing in disguise) that they ran out of rice at 2pm today so I got salad instead. Skipping rice for lunch was actually good for me because we ate again shortly after. The staff were really friendly and I got the feeling they they enjoyed working there. I’d go there often if I lived in Hilo.
All the poke choices here are Delicious! Both of my partner and my personal favorite is the ahi hurricane. The tako kimchi was different because I've never had kimchi poke before but that was pretty awesome if you like Kimchi. I personally love wasabi and salmon so I really the combo they have there as well.
The first day, I got the poke nachos which had a base layer of super crispy wonton chips. They are so freaking crispy and delicious if you are a crunchy fan like me.
The second day we went, we just got a few 1/4 lbs of a few variety of poke and then got some rice on the side.
A great bite in Hilo!
Fresh Poke prepared daily with some staples (spicy, ahi, etc) and some unique combinations like Caesar
Also have prawns and other seafood to try
Recommend getting here early as they sell out of popular dishes towards the end of the day
Plenty of street parking and tables to eat out front (or eat at a local beach on the go!)
Best convenient fish on the island!
Great freshest fish in town but butter come in the AM they can sell out quick!

Wow, hands down the best poke I had on the Big Island! From the moment I walked in, you can tell everything is ultra-fresh. Each bite literally melts in your mouth, tender, perfectly seasoned cubes of fish that taste like they were caught that morning. The pieces are juuust the right size (no giant chunks or sad little bits), so you get an ideal balance of fish and seasoning every time.
The staff are absolute sweethearts, zero pressure, plenty of friendly smiles, and they even let me sample every flavor before I decided. I would recommend Suisan to anyone visiting Big Island who wants the freshest, melt-in-your-mouth poke, you won’t be disappointed!
Great poke and great sides
Delicious. Nice portion and kind people. You are fool for not eating here.
Many kinds of poke. Not the largest assortment of raw fish, but very fresh!
