Service is terrible they threw away our food before we could take it to go, and definitely the worst ramen I have tasted, has no flavors, over priced, save your money and get something else and DO NOT GET THE COLD NOODLES they have 0 Flavor

This is a must-visit spot for any ramen connoisseur. The tonkotsu ramen looks absolutely fantastic, featuring a rich, creamy broth that promises to be full of flavor. The toppings are classic and well-executed: tender slices of pork chashu, a perfectly jammy ajitama (marinated egg) with a molten yolk, and traditional wood ear mushrooms (kikurage). The addition of narutomaki (fish cake) and scallions adds a nice pop of color and texture. The nori (seaweed) is a welcome classic.
The katsu curry is also a standout, with a beautifully fried, crispy katsu cutlet served alongside a generous portion of fragrant curry sauce. The plate is well-balanced with two mounds of fluffy white rice and a side of what appears to be macaroni salad, making for a hearty and satisfying meal.
Finally, the side dish of cabbage and corn salad with a generous drizzle of what looks like Kewpie mayonnaise is a simple but delicious-looking starter or accompaniment.
Overall, this restaurant seems to offer not only excellent ramen but also other great Japanese comfort food dishes. The quality of the ingredients and the careful presentation are evident in every picture. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Japanese food experience.

The bathroom was absolutely amazing. there was a bidet, Mouthwash, Floss, And aloe vera. I don’t think the restaurant understood how much I was in desperation for aloe vera. I had a sunburn prior to coming here, but after I saw the aloe vera, a tear shed down my face in relief. The ramen was pretty good too as well as the friendly staff

The pork is so tender!!! The best pork I’ve ever had. Broth flavor was great too, not too salty. Could have used a chili/spicy option. But otherwise amazing ramen on a rainy day

Tetsumen Ramen

We went for an early dinner on a Friday. It's in the Manono Street Marketplace across the street from Big Island Candies. Parking was plentiful with most of the other businesses closed. We were seated promptly at the counter. Most of space consists of counter seating with two large booths and a table. Serve was a little slow but attentive, they were quite busy.

We had the Plenty Vegetable Ramen and Taiwan Ramen. The Taiwan Ramen had an egg and not so much pork, was on the small side and not that spicy. My vegetable ramen was excellent with a tasty miso broth, a large piece of tasty pork medallion and plenty of vegetables; mostly cabbage, corn and mushroom. It was satisfying and filling.

There is an extensive menu of ramen, additions, appetizers and even sushi. Definite repeat, especially for the Plenty Vegetable Ramen.

Some of the most authentic Japanese food I’ve seen in all of the U.S. while still implementing different cuisines.

The place has both the private bar and larger tables.

We tried a multitude of things.

Donburi and various dons. Many people come to Hawaii for poke, and while donburi isn’t the same as poke the fish is very fresh.

But if you are debating donburi or ramen I do recommend ramen.

The classics and of course the tatsumen special ramen. A selection of noodles, all cooked to perfection. Taiwan ramen for those who like spicy, special for those who like a variety of meets, and classic, if you want to taste of Japan.

Don’t forget your deserts! You won’t regret them or take them to go.

Very delicious authentic ramen. A plethora of topping options and side dishes to perfect your meal. I highly recommend. We devoured our ramen even on a hot day. So worth it!

🍛 Curry Rice with Katsu Chicken – Food That Feeds the Soul
There’s something about this dish that goes beyond flavor. The tender chicken, perfectly breaded and crispy, pairs so beautifully with rich curry and warm, comforting rice. Every bite feels like a gentle hug—simple, satisfying, and exactly what you didn’t know you needed.

It’s not just delicious. It’s heartwarming. It feeds the soul!

I liked the variety of ramen they have, I ordered a cucumber and mayonnaise appetizer and it was really delicious. The prices seemed very reasonable and the food was served very quickly.

We came to Tetsumen for a VERY late lunch after a day spent chasing waterfalls. We immediately received a friendly welcome and were offered our choice of counter or table seating.

The menu is huge with so many delicious options. We got the Miso tonkotsu and the Shoyu tonkotsu. Both were great! The Matcha warabi mochi was an absolute highlight that exceeded expectations.

The staff were friendly and accommodating with Japanese hospitality that brings a deep happiness to my soul.

I can't recommend Tetsumen highly enough.

Me and my bf were on a tight budget but wanted to eat something fun to finish up a relaxing beach day, we found this place and as soon as you walk in it's such a fun and classic vibe, the table bars are all set up to reflect how real ramen places look in Japan, and as a huge nerd myself who loves Japan I was super thrilled. Then, we found a perfect dish to share that was affordable and filling for $8, I think it was called Abura Soba (it was a special happening right now Im pretty sure) the meat was super tender and the whole dish was very flavorful. We also got the seasoned boiled eggs (Ajitama) for $2.50 on the side. It was a decent amount for us to share and very filling actually, so a totally perfect and fun ending to our day. The menu is also super fun and interesting to check out with lots of options and it's posted up with lots of really yummy good looking pics of the food all over the ramen bar to check out. Fun happy hour deals for drinks and pupu's too.! We will definitely be back with friends and family, it's a dope spot, and the ramen tastes authentic so that makes it just 🔥💯👌
