My wife and I both LOVE Tina's Garden Gourmet Cafe! We've been here many times and been consistently impressed with the food.
There are a TON of vegan options - I was pleased to see that when I went tonight there were many more than a year ago! Although the menu isn't fully vegan, vegan options span appetizers, soups, salads, curries, mains, and desserts - you won't feel like you are missing anything as a vegan.
Tina cooks all the food herself, which is amazing! She puts great care into taste, freshness, and presentation. She is very kind and frequently comes out personally to make sure everyone is enjoying the food. She goes the extra mile for her customers - we requested last minute vegan catering for our wedding, and she came through beautifully - her delicious food truly saved our event.
Our favorite dishes include any of the curries and the papaya salad, and many of the salads. And tonight we tried the mango sticky rice - truly stellar taste and presentation! One of the best (and most beautiful) vegan desserts I have had.
Things may take a little longer than normal - but your patience will be rewarded!

We were hesitant to come here based on mixed reviews. After being in Hilo for a several days on vacation, this was the BEST MEAL we’ve had. Portions were a good size for the price. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. At least 1/3 of the menu is notated with a vegan option

Tina’s Thai Pizza was amazing, though nothing like traditional pizza. More like a Thai quesadilla with a mildly sweet flavor. The red curry was delicious, too. Great service.

Wonderfully tasteful Thai cuisine in very generous portions. You’re not gonna find white table cloths on the tables, just great food! We had the Seasonal Fruit Salad, Pad Thai and Thai Basil Soup.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this is genuinely the worst food I may have ever had. Got the pad Thai and it was just frozen Costco vegetables with bbq sauce on it for some reason… how this place has 4.5 stars is insane to me.

the best kept secret in Hilo! The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious! traditional Thai dishes and some homemade creations with a huge selection. Great prices and the owners, sister team Wilai and Nong are so welcoming. Great service no waiting. Great location right in town. Must visit when u are in Hilo!!!

I'm rating the atmosphere a 5 because it is so quaint. There are only 8 tables. We went in at 11:10 a.m., and by the time we left, it was full. The salad was fabulous, and the red curry dish was awesome. This little place is a 'must try' if you're in Hilo, Hawaii.
