Ordered Verna's bento, mushroom chicken & mountain view plates. Would've taken pictures but the meals were consumed before I thought about it. Good food, fair prices. If you're in Hilo, worth the visit.
Wow! I found Pasteles or pastel en hoja as we call it back in the Dominican Republic. My favorite food in the world. What a great surprise. Didn't know why they're be here but read up on the history. Many Puerto Ricans came to work to plantations back in the 1900s. Their culture can with them. Anyways, the pasteles at Vernas we're pretty good. Def returning for more! Thank you!!!!

Got a hamburger loco, kimchi burger, and fries. Loco gravy was not my favorite, and burger was fine.
