Called the Hilo Zippys to speak to someone in the bakery department, was told that no one was working in the bakery, it was only 440 pm on a Tuesday, how can no one be working in the bakery at peak time, talk about some major BS, I think the not so bright employees name was an Andrew. Terrible service rendered, hopefully this place doesn't end up like most of the past eateries in the mall , CLOSED.
The food has gone downhill and just sucks ! I love local food but , this it not worth the money. Its a great looking restaurant, great staff but the generic and lack of creativity and flavors is disappointing. The menu selection is overwhelming, the only good food they have is the deserts. Local food is supposed to be delicious, this is local hawain cuisine that's been turned into McDonald's quality. If you want authentic hawaiian kine food go to 5 spice , or anywhere else that isn't a franchise. Sorry zippys but your foods gone down hill bad. It was really good when it first opened in hilo but now its just bland and not worth it.
I usually do takeout when it comes to restaurants. But this location has no takeout. So I gave in. The wait was long for eggs and 3 meats. It was cold when received. It was not busy
Fast service, and excellent food as always.
Good food, server was very tentative!

I came for the bakery and I had the most stale coconut turnover I've ever had. I will never come back there for a baked good.

The food is decent here. Orange Bang is good if you're craving a less thick Orange Julius.
Chili is good, but what's up with the rice? This is the second time I said no rice and got rice. All I wanted was a bowl of chili. Yesterday I had it for lunch and it was good. Tonight I order two chilis to go and get home and there's that nasty rice in there. I'll eat it, but I really don't want to. Hate to waste $28 worth of food.
I ate part of the first chili, but that rice is really disgusting. Sucks when you're craving chili all day and go to get it and it's a total let down. The other one is going straight in the garbage.

Staff was pretty rude and pressed the tip for me when I didn't even want to, plus my Koren chicken was cold! They're lucky I'm generous enough to give 2 stars.
