Love this place! Come here all the time but finally came during happy hour & it was awesome! Pretty quiet compared to later in the night but I’m a sucker for a good happy hour & I will DEFINITELY be going back for theirs 🤩

Seriously, how are you going to charge $6 for a bowl of rice? When the dish itself needs rice? Absolutely ridiculous and just a money grab. Avoid this place.

If I lived closer to town I would go here all the time. This place is fantastic. I always mean to take pictures but we all dive in before we can take any. Some of our favorite things to eat is the fried rices, satay, oyster shooters, poke, and so many others. I haven't tried anything there that I didn't care for. The drinks there are fantastic. The main bar tender there, Ben, has never failed me. I have him surprise me with different drinks and I have loved them all! All I tell him is that I tend to like citrus and drinks that are not too sweet. I definitely will be back!

Located in downtown Honolulu, 1038 Indochine was an enjoyable dining experience with great patio seating. The menu was eclectic fusion of Asian and Vietnamese. Service was good. There was live music inside the restaurant on the night my party of five had dinner.

Our experience here was outstanding. The atmosphere was fantastic, thanks to the beautiful interior design. The food was incredible, and our waiter was attentive throughout our meal. We ordered the garlic noodles, beef tataki, and black bean eggplant—all of which were delicious. After trying so many expensive places in Waikiki with food that was mediocre at best, this place was a refreshing change.

1938 Indochine is a gorgeous restaurant right in the heart of Honolulu. The outdoor seating on their expansive lanai is perfect for a night out on the town. Every month they hold Smoke Break events and their cigar lineup is quite impressive, with brands including Padron, Drew Estate/The Rebirth of Cigars Deadwood Series, and My Father. The food is a very unique spin on Southeast Asian cuisine. Everything was so delicious, from the refreshing Green Papaya Mango Salad, or the hearty Krazy Fried Rice, and the Banana Lumpia was a very creative and delicious dessert that was the perfect way to close out the night. Definitely will definitely be going back again soon!

Zack was a great server! From the start he was very welcoming, smiling, and was very attentive throughout the evening. The speed of the service was perfect. We did not have to wait long for the food or drinks. The portions were decent and it was good quality food. Though, I wish the spicy options were spicier. Will recommend to others and definitely be coming back.

Their eggplant and imperial rolls were delicious, but they no longer have tofu bao buns and most of their soups/sauces are premade with no way to make them vegan. Also their food is meant to be shared, so not a great option for mixed groups of vegan and non-vegans

Dining inside is like being transformed into 1938 Indochina. Except the cocktails and food are modern and delicious. We like the happy hour. And there is parking.

If I could give it 6 stars I would. Staff is friendly and cheerful. Food is amazing and delicious and you literally have to wait 5 mins for your food. I’m not kidding, you place your order and 5 mins later it’s at your table. Great restaurant! I highly recommend.

We enjoyed happy hour menu, hamachi crudo, lemongrass fries, chili chicken and crazy fried rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service friendly and attentive. Sat on the outdoor lanai with cool breeze, some traffic noise but not intrusive. A Honolulu favorite!

Vegetarian options: Five vegetarian options. Not sure if they’re strictly vegetarian or just vegetable dishes,

Wheelchair accessibility: Lanai is sidewalk level. Indoors is on same level. No stairs.
