Grew up in Waipahu but 1st visit to Kakaako. Prices are good, food was Ono!! Tried a little bit of everything - kalua pig, long rice, beef stew, pipikaula, lomi salmon, hamburger steak... we were missing 1 of 2 lomi orders but they're still a solid 5☆☆☆☆☆!! 3rd generation of owners... great service, take-out wait time was reasonable too. Will be back soon!!!

My wife and I along with two friends had an authentic Hawaiian dinner at the Highway Inn. Our waitress and the manager Tonya explained all of the dishes and offered suggestions. The Kalua pig and pork lau lau were our favorites. I also liked the salmon lomo and the homemade pepper and water sauce. This restaurant was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and it was a great experience. We recommend trying this place now celebrating 70 years.
