Dive Bar, friendly staff, laid back. The chicken - Fat Fat Special Chicken - I can’t say enough about this chicken. Crispy chicken skin, flavorful and juicy, you must try it. The homemade potstickers and beef chow fun were amazing.

Amazing local dive bar. Fried baby tako, cake noodle, crispy chicken and beer, what else do you need. Literally ate from here twice in one week and could probably do more than that.

My favorite spot to visit when I'm on Oahu. It is a departure from the touristy spots with the usual clientele, and caters to locals that want to relax with a drink, watch some sports, and have some great food. These are Chinese dishes with a Hawaiian spirit, and they always hit. Mandatory for me while I am on island are a salmon belly plate lunch, GauGee, and Lup Cheong fried rice. Other dishes that have my heart are ginger fried rice, fat fat special chicken, chicken gizzards, and fried ahi plate. Even fried lettuce is surprisingly tasty, even if just once. I have had maybe a third of the menu so still quite a bit of flavors to uncover and explore. I look forward to doing that over the next several decades. Would be remiss if I didn't mention friendly service. Can't say enough great things about an essential establishment for me.

The spot for amazing Chinese food while getting drinks on the cheap, shooting pool, or singing karaoke. Careful tho, the regulars have AMAZING voices and sing the cutest love songs to their partners.
I go here with my husband and I enjoy watching folks playing pool and laughing with thier friends everyone is happy here and the service is outstandingI would recommend this place to other people because of its layed back atmosphere

Local bars can sometimes feel intimidating, but the bartenders are friendly and the prices are amazing for food and drink. There are also dart boards and a pool table, and most of the tables are booths.

Went right before closing, honestly the environment doesn't give off the vibes that you're going to get good food being it's an older looking bar. But I must say that the food was actually good! I got the Special Chicken and the Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice and throughly enjoyed it! The place needs to be updated but this is definitely a good place to go for a later night grub
I had the "fried lettuce" and "wings". The fried lettuce is a sautéed Romain lettuce, there is no oil used in its' cooking. There chili seeds, some form of sweetness, although very light. It was one of the most unusual and wonderful ways in which I have had Romain. I ate an entire order along with wings which were fabulous. 8 Fat Fat 8 is a classic Honolulu bar and grill (established 1986). It could easily stand on its own simply through the food menu. It also offers great drinks (fairly priced), and an Aloha spirit you feel almost immediately upon entering. 8 Fat Fat 8 deserves your patronage, parking seems adequate either in their lot or the street parking out front.

Crazy about this local joint recommended by our local friends! Do not let the first impression or ambiance of the place fool you! Their menu and food is unbelievable and the price for that quality is unspeakable! Pool table, darts, old style booths and bar - local as can get. No tourist with exception of us when we visited - mainly all regular locals! Friendly welcoming service. Ordered the beef chow fun and the salt and pepper pork chops and shared between two of us. Excellent dishes and perfect portions! The yuzu cheesecake was delicious as well - not too sweet! It's really a hidden gem!!

I hadn't been to this spot since the early 90s but it's the same - awesome, unassuming neighborhood bar with delicious food & great service!! Mahalo and please don't change!!
Spontaneous lunch date with my bff. We were driving around trying to decide where to eat and we drove past 8 Fat Fat 8 and saw that they're open at lunch so around the block we went. It's been YEARS since I've been there but it's just like I remember. Dimly lit hole in the wall dive bar. Perfect! It was super quiet, only 2 people sitting at the bar. We sat in a booth and looked over the menu. It was hard to choose but we decided on the salt and pepper pork chop and shoyu pork belly lunch specials AND their chicken skins and a side of stir-fried ong choy. The food came was all cooked fresh and came out hot. The lunch specials came out with a little side salad too. Easy parking, great food, good service. 100% going back again!
