My favorite dinner/late night place in Hawaii! I would certainly go there every day when I visit Honolulu. Like the food and vibe.

Among all good dishes: Beef stew is super good. Grilled chicken is very tender. Beef flank is a bit too sweet for me but still good.

We were the first to be seated when the doors opened at 5pm, and we ordered a total of 8 dishes. The service is friendly, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted fantastic! The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, as well as family friendly!

Cool vibe. The food is great, and all cooked over the charcoal that enhance more flavor. Portion not too big, more like the tapa’s size for bistro. It’s little bit pricey.

extremely disappointed in the misleading portion sizes, nothing like the menu pictures.
I ordered oxtail soup, and look at the one medium size piece, nothing like the meni pic showing two large pieces. :(

Humble but terrific aburiyaki (flame-seared) izakaya joint. Pork belly & oxtail porridge were hot & tasty! Friendly staff, homey decor (including fan letters from kids), & very reasonable prices. Fun Japanese pop music - great place to chill when taking a break from fancy tasting menus :-)

Must get the oxtail soup! The meat is tender and the soup is light but still has a good amount of flavor. We also ordered the potato salad, the sweet corn, the cold tofu with spicy sesame minced pork, the beef flank and the aburiyaki chicken thigh in shio koji. I thought everything was pretty good! The only thing is the restaurant is a very short staffed so service is a bit slow. It took them 30 min to give us water after we asked 3 times. If you sit at the bar, you can see the chef grilling the meat and it’s pretty cool watching him.

We heard about Aburiya Ibushi from a friend and decided to check it out. The restaurant was welcoming and lively, with a lot of action going down at the bar counter where the yakitori are grilled. We ordered a range of appetizers and dishes, with the Oxtail Soup Ramen being the standout. The broth was rich and full of flavor, and the meat simply melts in your mouth. Great experience, but note that finding parking is difficult and we had to find a random lot across the street.

My family of three went there at 5:30 pm.
It was before the crowds, so it must have been busy. That's impossible.
Our family was the first one, and 15 minutes later there were only two other couples.
For meals, order ahi tataki, potato salad, grilled edamame, grilled chicken thigh, grilled wagyu tongue, and oxtail ramen.
・Ahi tataki is average
・To be honest, I didn't like the potato salad.
There were no other ingredients other than potatoes, and it was basically mashed potatoes with solid potatoes in them, and the seasoning was lacking.
There was something yellow with a curry flavor on the topping, but it was salty?
・Personally, I think the baked edamame has lost its edamame flavor. My son and husband seemed to like it.
・The grilled chicken thigh had a dry skin that wasn't crispy and the seasoning was weak.
・The only item that I thought was delicious was the grilled Wagyu beef tongue.
Although it was grilled, it was completely cooked, unlike the sample image.
・The oxtail ramen was lightly seasoned and lacking in flavor, and the noodles were hard and crumbly with the core remaining.
Everyone except my husband prefers lighter flavors, but I still felt it was a little thin overall.
The atmosphere and customer service were very good, but I won't be visiting again.

Yummy food but only 1 server for the whole floor. Service was slow and she said "she can't do individual bills"... you mean you won't.. Food was expensive (waikiki prices) for small portions. Highball was watery. Ox tail ramen was yummy! Neat little place but I prob will be going somewhere else.

We used to love this place so much that every time we visited Honolulu we had to be here. But this time, we feel sooooooo disappointed and would like to put it on our blacklist. First when we arrived at the restaurant we were told that we only have 1 hour to finish the dinner because we were late. I said it’s fine. But it took us 45 minutes to get our first dish after we complained. Second, the food portion is ridiculously small compared to its price. Third, they overfilled the fancy soft drink with a lot of ice. My son said he got scammed and feel so disappointed.
