The best ramen! They recently changed owners and it's not as good as it used to be but still the best spicy ramen ever! Spicy kotteri, gyoza, and karrage is bomb!

Really good ramen! Our faves are the shoyu tonkotsu and koterri ramen. We used to go all the time before the overhaul and even tried the Ward and Ala Moana locations. This is by far our favorite location simply because they have really, really nice folks working there! Can't recommend it enough.

Service is AMAAAZINGGG 5 starsss . The only thing is that when I went to eat some ramen the pork belly wasn't the best . I used to go agu all the time at pearl ridge and the pork belly was bomb af!! Where it would melt in my mouth kine.. but anyways hope the best for this company

Spicy kotteri is my personal favorite. I love their rich garlicky broth. Spicy level 2 was just the right amount of spice for me. Spicy tonkotsu was really delicious as well. I gave 4 stars because Gyoza and fries were just okay.

Wanted something warm for this cold weather and decided why not some ramen? Haven't gone to Agu ramen for a while and it was near home. I believe that this is the only location open right now? I remember going here once every week when I was in high school. We chose to sit at the counter since it was really packed, when we arrived. It was cash only tonight, I'm guessing their card machine wasn't working tonight. The prices have increased a bit from the last time I've been there. I usually would get the spicy kotteri at level 3, boyfriend got the tonkotsu miso at level 2. What I love about Agu ramen is that they serve all sorts of broths and even have vegan options. I love their aji tamago the most! Noodles are always nice and fresh. Getting an extra aji tamago costs $2 for half a slice. After waiting for about 10 minutes our ramen finally arrived. The broth of the kotteri used to be very black, but it is now a more reddish-orange color. Still very good and I love the way it is now other than before. Boyfriend really enjoyed his ramen and ended up getting some rice to put into his broth after eating all of the noodles. Although it was busy tonight, the service was fast. Servers were very attentive and refilled up my water and handed my check when I finished eating.

The restaurant just reopened and from what I was told it's their only location that reopened. Came here for lunch 1 hour before closing time. Their was two other tables when I arrived and was seated immediately. As for the menu, there's a slight change. They no longer have agucini and pigs ear on their menu. The server explained since they just reopen the limited menu is to help the staffs get back into the flow. However, they have deep fried chicken skin with ponzu sauce. I don't recall their spice level the last time I was there before they closed, but they now have EPIC and WTF spice level if level 5 isn't that spicy. Food wise the chicken skin was surprisingly good. It was light and crispy. It actually reminds me of the pigs eat. The spicy kotteri looks the same. As for taste it wasn't as flavorful as I remembered it, again could be because they just reopen and just need sometime to get back into their groove. Their rufute, pork stew, was surprisingly good. The rufute is a sweet shoyu flavor pork. It's listed as an appetizer but it's perfect with rice (on menu). I ended up eating it with my ramen. As for service, there was only one server and she was very attentive and friendly. Prices were the same as before. However, we were informed before we order it was cash only till they set up their credit card machine. Don't forget to bring cash just in case.

I'm so glad that this place is open again! The kotteri ramen taste exactly as I remember it...amazing! Unfortunately though this place is cash only now & doesn't serve alcohol. The prices seem to be the same as before but the menu has a little less options. Regardless of these changes, I will be back again!

Agu Ramen is apparently now under new ownership. They have closed the Waikiki and Ward locations and focusing on this one location, which is where it all started. The last time I went, I saw the vegan ramen on the menu but stuck with my usual side plates because, as a vegan, I am always disappointed with vegetarian or vegan ramen. The girl said that the broth was created in collaboration with the woman who owns Vegan Hills (which I have not yet tried but heard so much about) so, this time, I decided to go for the vegan ramen. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The broth was nice and thick and extremely tasty. The chinese parsley was a welcome flavor as was the bok choy. I can do without the vegan protein so next time I can ask without. Adding tofu might work as well. I highly recommend this ramen, even though you are not vegetarian or vegan. I know Agu exists in Texas, where I am as well, but have not ventured to try their "Vegetable" options as I do not want to be disappointed. I wish they can have the vegan ramen elsewhere as well. Boo hoo.

Under new management, no liquor, did not see any signs of BYOB, only cash is accepted as form of payment. Everything taste the same. They have limited items on their menu. They still have our favorites chicken kawa, Agedashi (tofu), gyoza and the "Hot Mess" is our favorite ramen. Hoping they will open up more locations

And they are back in business here in 2020! Since their departure in September 2019, I was never able to find the love for ramen similar to the one I had for their Spicy Kotteri. But I'm thrilled to have learned that they returned with new management and a few familiar faces. As of right now, they are only accepting cash and their menu is quite limited. But don't let that deter you! They got the signature dishes ready to reunite with you!

Agu is back under new management effective today! Our server was Xing and he used to help us often when my boyfriend would go all the time bEfore they closed in September last year (2019). He still remembered what our orders were and actually looked genuinely happy to see us come back! The Isenberg location is the only one that's open, but I'm okay with that They are currently only taking cash - credit card machine is down. Also, no alcohol is being served but I'm not sure if it is BYOB. The menu is pretty much the same except for a handful of items (no aguccini) but the quality of the ramen remains the same and that's what mattered to us lol Please come back and support Agu! To my bf and I, they have the best ramen. Ever.

We decided to try Agu Ramen because it was a ramen spot that was close to our place, and we wanted to walk towards another shaved ice spot afterwards. I decided to get spicy (lvl 1) tonkatsu, and my boyfriend got their spicy (level 2) koterri ramen. The ramen wasn't my favorite to be honest. The noodles were over cooked and the broth lacked in flavor. I probably could have gone up a level because the spice wasn't that spicy. It was just a lip plumper for me, but it didn't last long. For those of you that don't know (cause I didn't) Koterri is basically a richer, thicker pork based broth. Which is what my boyfriend got, and I feel like I would rated this place a little more higher if I got what my boyfriend had. You can taste that his was richer than mine. He said it was okay bowl, he just thinks it's not worth it for the price. There was flavor, but not that much. A lot of the flavor came from eating the garlic, which says a lot. We definitely prefer Ramen Nagi and Yokohama a lot more than this place. Edit: My boyfriend got stomach aches from this place. We probably won't be eating ramen for awhile haha. Parking — Parking was sort of confusing due to the arrows but it's cool, we figured it out :)

Short Story: Sit down, Order the OG Kotterri, Eat slow, thank me later. Long story: I've traveled to Japan and had my fair share of authentic ramen so I'm a bit picky when it comes to eating ramen elsewhere, but AGU is definitely doing something right. I went to the agu in the evening and it wasn't too busy, my order was taken within a minute or two of sitting down and it all came out as quickly as you would expect good ramen to come out. I highly recomend getting the OG Koterri ramen first time coming here. The garlic oil broth is probably the richest broth I've had anywhere, and this ramen is definitely fighting for the title of best ramen in hawaii (even better than some over hyped ramen shops in japan). They also sell cocktails if you're in the mood and if you want something spicier you can spice it up from 1-5 but be careful because 5 is super spicy.
