I have been to 14 luaus and this was my least favorite. The dancers were amazing and the show was good. I get that it was different by telling the story of Hawaii instead of having the dances of all of the cultures. But we are just used to less slow songs and hulas and storytelling so it was a slower pace and not your typical luau show. The problem was the food. There were four of us and no one ate. We talked to a family next to us who also did not eat. The food was not good at all. I would say the worst meal that I’ve ever had in Hawaii.

It was a very nice night but the food was not very fresh and felt very more like cafeteria food. Everything was just ok, nothing was bad but nothing was good.
The service was amazing and the hula dancers did a great job. The hotel was beautiful but the show backed up to Waikiki beach so lots of beach goers stood along the fence line and it was a little distracting.
We have been to a few lisps and this was in the middle for us. Felt over priced in our opinion.

I booked for 4 adults and one child. When we arrived they had us down for three adults and one child. I showed the person at the front and he tried to say I didn’t pay. I had to pull up my receipt and prove it which is fine. Then when we got to the table a second person asked, and I had to show it again and then midway through a manager or somebody else came up and asked and wanted to see the receipt of payment. I felt like a criminal and I had actually paid for all of the seats. It was absolutely ridiculous. It was not only us this happened too. We heard another couple same thing. If it was just the fact that they’d ask once, obviously to prove that we had paid for the ticket. I completely understand, but the fact that I was made to feel like a criminal throughout the whole event was terrible. The food was not great also.

Best performance and luau I’ve ever been to. Great show. Excellent music. Lovely backdrop next to the beach. Great service. Food was ok, not bad. Great overall experience. Highly recommended.
Booked this one because it was outdoors on the beach and web site pics displayed an incredible atmosphere. Not the case. Was indoors and atmosphere was that of a dining hall in a retirement home. Extremely disappointed. Was not raining, and no reason given for indoor venue. Food was horrible and cold. Definitely not worth the money.
Super fun experience!!!

The show was very good and learning about the history of the Royal Hawaian was great. Our server was fantastic and attended us well. However, if you go here for the food you may be disappointed. The food was just barely warm, generally tasteless, and seemed to have been held for quite some time before serving. There are better choices, Aluani, Polynesian Cultural Center to name too. We were staying at the Royal Hawaian and this was convienient.
We actually discussed leaving early but glad we didn’t, the second half of the show was very good.
Unfortunately, the rain moved the party inside, and the feeling is just not the same in the ballroom. I was really looking forward to being outdoors.
We appreciate ALL entertainers, their talents, and voices and dances. Truly a very nice experience! And while we understand we paid mostly for that (and not the food), the cost felt a little too high. We also appreciate how history was included throughout the show and learned a lot about Hawaii
Service was just extremely rushed. I get they have a schedule and wanted to finish by a certain time to turn the lights off for the show, but it just felt like an errand. While we had 3 drinks tickets each, none of us drinks alchohol - when asking for a simple non-alchoholic Mojito, I was told they could only make a syrupy sugary Pina Colada; went and asked the manager, then still said no ... it was such an unneccessary conversation for a damn non-alchoholic drink. Even after the lights were turned off, I was watching the show and slowly enjoying my dessert, when I was asked twice if I am done so they could clean up the plates. Food was mediocre at its best, with a couple of very tasty pieces. Unfortunately, not worth the cost!
For a luau at a “luxury hotel” with a steep price, it was far from luxurious. The food was awful, we couldn’t even finish the main course. The desserts were dry. The only saving grace was the service. The show was a bit corny as well, didn’t feel authentic. I would save your money and go somewhere else.
Show was good. Food and drink mediocre. Not a good value.
The history of Hawaii was also incorporated into the show, which I enjoyed quite a bit.
I was very satisfied because I wanted to see the fire dance.
I was told that there would be a special menu for the New Year's dinner, but this one was just okay. It's not worth the price...
What was disappointing was the Chinese female staff member in charge of the table. What is it like to have customer service that makes you feel like you're in a Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of town?
Both the food and the atmosphere were ruined.
I'm really disappointed.
I wonder if there will be a next time.
