The history of Hawaii was also incorporated into the show, which I enjoyed quite a bit.
I was very satisfied because I wanted to see the fire dance.
I was told that there would be a special menu for the New Year's dinner, but this one was just okay. It's not worth the price...
What was disappointing was the Chinese female staff member in charge of the table. What is it like to have customer service that makes you feel like you're in a Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of town?
Both the food and the atmosphere were ruined.
I'm really disappointed.
I wonder if there will be a next time.

The luau was exactly what I expected it to be for a tourist attraction. It was entertaining, well done, and the dancers were so talented. 5 stars all the way for the entertainment.
We had the VIP package, one server for our table but rarely saw him. We had to chase him down to take our drink orders- we saw him at the ends of the tables with the larger families (only 2 of us) so we understand he is chasing the tips but it would have been nice for them to swing by once without being chased down. The bartenders were great and poured heavy. No complaints there.
5 stars for the entertainment and bartenders. 3 stars for the actual waitstaff.

Dear Royal Hawaiian Team,
I want to express my gratitude for the incredible Luau experience my family and I recently enjoyed at your beautiful resort. From the breathtaking setting to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, every detail was spectacular.
The performances' authenticity, the storytelling vibrancy, and the dancers' sheer talent left us in awe. The culinary delights were equally impressive, with each dish showcasing the richness of Hawaiian culture and flavors. It was clear how much care and thought were put into creating such a memorable event.
Our evening at the Royal Hawaiian will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we sincerely thank your team for making it such a magical experience. We look forward to returning and creating more cherished memories in the future.

LOVED the experience. From the service to the food (wonderful selection and able to accommodate a food allergy), to the entertainment and interactive experience. This was a very memorable evening for my family and my children loved it.
Dietary restrictions: Accommodated a gluten allergy easily and thoughtfully.

Food was not good. Typical convention quality food for a premium price. The location was beautiful, the food was not. The show was good, professional production, not a genuine Hawaiian feeling. Not worth the $800 plus for 3 people.

Very well organized. Comfortable, happy, entertained. One of the best luaus I have ever been to. Food served to you (vs buffet style) was great. Desserts were amazing and I am not even much of a sweets person. Good dinner variety too.

Way too expensive for so so food, watered down drinks and cheesy narrative. Decent dancing however.

10/10 recommend! What a great show. We learned so much about Hawaiian history and culture. The performers were AMAZING! The food was good and there was more than we could eat. The drinks were good too! Our server Sarah was a sweet lady that gave it that extra personal touch and really took time to make sure we had a good experience. We were there for our anniversary and she added a special happy anniversary message with our dessert.

The food is delicious, the location is great, and the atmosphere is great. Drink service was slow, so I went to get it myself. I was disappointed that the show was shorter than before.

Really enjoyed our evening at the Royal Hawaiian - the show exceeded our expectations and in a beautiful setting. The performers were spectacular, very professional and was great learning about Hawaiis culture and history. The biggest let down much like all other reviews is the food was extremely poor quality and underwhelming. I would still recommend going though as the performance was worth the expense.

Amazing view and such a lovely show
Had attended this 12 years ago and it was amazing; food was much better than we had expected and the show was really good. Sadly, things have changed. We felt pretty lucky to get a last minute seat thanks to one of the managers at the Royal Hawaiian (were we were staying) and I’m grateful for that service but the event itself was such a disappointment, and the price is exhorbitant for what you get.The food now is very poor - I saw multiple guests leave most of the food on their plates so it wasn’t just us - it didn’t taste fresh or good. The show is also pretty poor - the musicians were good, the main female dancer was very good, it’s always great to see the Samoan fire dances; but the compère was too cheesy and they no longer do any of the other Polynesian cultural dances. Being asked to applaud each of several performers dressed as various members of the Hawaiian royal family parading on the stage is not a show.We saw multiple dissatisfied people when the event ended. The back drop is so beautiful so it is such a shame that it has become a real tourist trap.
