ALO Cafe Hawaii is a family owned vegan café that started in Waikīkī, and now has a location at SALT at our Kaka'ako. Find smoothies, coffee & tea, açaí bowls, toasts, salads, wraps and curries.
Their menu has no artificial colors or flavors, no refined sugar or MSG and is organic and eco friendly as much as possible. My absolute favorite dish is the Tan Tan Curry Noodle!
Was excited to try an all vegetarian cafe in SALT. The cafe definitely has good vibes, but the food was not great and wait time when there were no other customers was very long. The Alo latte was okay, but had some chunks of something in the bottom. The cafe claims to not use added sugar so I have no idea what it was. The avocado toast was great, but the arugula salad was drowning in balsamic vinegar, so much so that half the avocado toast was soaking in vinegar by the time they...
The offerings are few but the dishes are nicely executed. The Buddha bowl was a Buddha plate. The different sides (potato salad, curry lentils, kale salad) were very tasty. The cold spicy noodles were wonderfully al dente. We were looking for a healthy and smaller portion eating venue and liked that we could dine al fresco in the shade.
