Super slow service. We were 2nd ones to order when we arrived. The baristas served the 1st ones almost immediately since they were friends. We waited 30 minutes for an iced latte. I had to go back up to the counter to remind them I was waiting on an order I paid for. They proceeded to just talk to each other and move slowly without any apologies for any inconvenience. They proceeded to just give me something I didnt order. I shouldve listened to the other reviews about dismissive service. Find another coffee shop

Do not get the royal milk tea. It is simply not what you imagine. I thought it would be similar to the brown milk tea from those canned drink. This was just a cup of milk with a hint of oolong smell. (See the photo). It was not sweetened as well so I wanted to go back and ask for a refund but they were preoccupied and slow. Would not exactly recommend. The vibes are nice but deceiving because the drink was not close to good at all.

The coffee is fine, nothing bad but nothing special. The service, however, is terrible. The person who took our order was incredibly rude and standoffish and went out of her way to try to make us feel bad. We had a full stamp card getting us a free drink because they messed up our order the day before, and after being rude to us the whole time she looked at the stamp card like it was fake. Once we finished ordering, she and the other barista laughed and joked about us right in front of us even though it was the barista’s fault for making our order more difficult than it needed to be. Definitely wouldn’t go back here, and based on other reviews it seems like this is a consistent issue here.

This is one of my absolute favorite places for coffee. Every time I visit Hawaii I try to stay close to this place to combine morning walks with coffee and breakfast at ARS

It’s clear that the two boys are not interested in working, and the coffee tastes awful.
If I could, I’d give this a negative score.

Lovely cafe with a warm atmosphere. The baristas were welcoming and even brought water to my friend and I while we were sitting. I’d highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in town! ARS has a lot of character !

Was a barista for 8 years and honestly places like this set the industry back. It’s not hard to greet a customer when they walk in or act even remotely interested. Also my drip coffee tasted like spoiled milk—couldn’t even finish it. If the coffee was more elevated I could maybe understand the pompous attitude, but most of the everything was just bad.

Walked in and felt like our business was a major inconvenience to the staff working there. Asked a few questions about the menu & the look of disgust on the ladies face was enough for us to walk out without purchasing any thing. Cute shop - but unhappy staff.

Honestly a great small coffee shop! Beautiful building and great aesthetic, and the coffee and food were amazing. (definitely recommend their salmon bagel as it was amazing!)

Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Both baristas were rude and dismissive. When I asked for recommendations from their local coffee selection, I got a sigh, an eye roll, and a curt “I don’t know.”
My order was also mixed up: I asked for an iced latte but received a hot one, which wasn’t a big deal, just when I politely pointed out the mistake, one barista snapped at me, saying “Well, that’s what you ordered,” followed by a sneer. When corrected by her coworker she shoved the latte towards me and very sarcastically said “well I guess you get this one for free” as if I messed up the order.

The food and drinks are great, but the service makes it hard to recommend.

The food was good, but I was quite disappointed with the barista’s attitude. The tone felt a bit harsh and unfriendly, which made the experience less pleasant. After reading other reviews, it seems that others have felt the same way, so I hope this feedback is taken as a chance for some reflection. The sandwiches were tasty, but waiting 30 minutes for two simple ones was longer than I expected, and the coffee was just average — nothing special. It’s a shame because it really spoiled the otherwise wonderful aloha spirit I’ve felt everywhere else in Hawaii. Also, street parking was the only option, but the street is currently under construction until November 25, so I had to park at the nearby park — something to keep in mind if you plan to visit.

The guy who makes coffee was probably having a bad day… also the food came out too late. We had to wait 30+ minutes.

The baristas and cashiers are indifferent to your presence. Not only do they make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them but they also don’t even look at you when speaking and sigh when you ask them a question about a drink.
When waiting for your drink , make sure you’re listening very carefully because even if the cafe is a bit noisy they’ll call out your drink softly and not repeat it, making the drink water down on the counter.
Don’t work in jobs that require customer service if this is your attitude.
