Tucked into the heart of Kalihi near Farrington High School, Au's Garden is sure to impress with their inexpensive, warm-cooked Chinese dishes!
My favorites include cake noodles with black bean chicken, crispy gaugee, fried noodles, chow fun, and their steamed vegetables.
Perfect place to host your next party or large family dinner.

Disappointing. Flavorless Kung pao chicken, Hot and Sour soup, beef&broccoli, and chicken lo mein.

We had lunch here for the first time after finding our destination full. The food came quickly and was tasty. The lamb casserole didn't have much color but had the requisite flavor. The string beans and pork was the best dish ... dark green, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The crisp gau gee with crispy noodles was fine. We ran into the chef from one of our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants... if he comes here, it must be alright.

I really enjoyed eating here.
It's the kind of food that I grew up with.
I'll do a better report the next time.

Yum! Great food if you like Cantonese style. Large selection. Char Siu very good. Salt and Pepper shrimp with shells excellent. Very attentive and friendly staff.

I thought I was walking into some authentic Chinese restaurant until the food came. We ordered orange chicken, Mongolian beef and house chowmein. Orange chicken was too sweet, like lemon chicken, drenched in lemon sauce The outer part and the chicken was chewy, obviously not fresh. Mongolian beef did not have the flavor as it should and it was served with mostly onions and bell peppers, small amount of beef. If you're expecting large portions, you'll be disappointed because these family plates are only good for one. The chowmein noodles were overcooked and drenched with sauce. We ordered House Special Chowmein and only had 2 tiny shrimps, couple pieces of chicken, no beef and bunch of pork meat. There was nothing special about it. Lastly, in the chowmein, I found hair in one of the broccoli. We brought to the servers attention and they offered to make another. As bad as it was, we did not want it replaced but removed from the bill and when we paid the bill, it was still included. Anyway, this was our first time here and definitely will be our last. The restaurant seem to keep their deco from the 70's or 80's and their eating area is used as a storage room as well. That's the reason for 2 star rating on atmosphere. The photo shows the hair I pulled from the broccoli as you can see the piece of broccoli still attached to it.

I don’t know where all the good reviews are from? This place was barely OK. My dad found a hair in his broccoli and they offered to give another plate but I declined because the food was whatever. I was so hungry when I arrived I ate it anyway. Honestly Panda Express has better food. The Chow Mein was served boiled noodles then vegetables, meat and sauce on top. There is about 3 servings per plate which was ok. I would not recommend to anyone. Spent $54 for 3 plates.

Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Unfortunately the food was not that great. My orange chicken did not have any orange/citrus flavor but it was indeed orange. The rice had minimal chunks of pork and was not as flavorful as other fried rice recipes I’ve had on the island.
This was just eh all around.

Very disappointed in the Mongolian beef. It did not look at all like the photos I see here and on the menu. It was just loads of onions, second to that bell pepper, and last small slivers of beef lacking flavor. The overall amount of onions and lack of meat made me feel entirely ripped off.
