This is not the best banh mi I have had, but it is the best food I've found on the UH campus, especially when washed down with one of their delicious Vietnamese ice coffees. One extra star added for keeping the banh mi price under US$10, and for providing a decent affordable lunch amidst Honolulu's atrocious pricey food scene. Closed Saturdays and Sundays, or else you'd see me there on those days too!

Super nice staff and great place to eat for students. They also take meal swipes which is great! I always get the meatball banh mi or the beef pho :)

Great place when on campus. Simple pho to fuel your workout. Dining area is clean, staff is very nice and efficient and great value for your buck relative to other spots in the area.Don't expect a lavish bowl of pho. It's more of a food court vibe.

Unfortunately beef pho is not very flavorful. Also hard to get to if your off campus.

A good option when on campus. I enjoyed the tofu rolls. Offers a daily special, plus the usuals.

Nothing beats a hot bowl of pho or a hot bowl of yellow chicken curry to soothe the body, mind, and spirit! Prices are reasonable and crew is very nice! Get some croissants to enjoy later- love coming here!

Vegetarians beware!!! This location is NOT vegan or vegetarian friendly!I ordered their tofu eggplant curry. The menu did not indicate there was any meat in it. I asked the auntie that was serving it and she may have not spoke enough English to understand what I was asking, which is not her fault. The menu could have just stated it had meat in it to avoid confusion. There were definitely small chunks of meat (possibly pork) in the curry. At first I was excited to see a veg-friendly item on their menu but I’ll never eat here again. I quickly lost my appetite and got sick from unknowingly eating meat which is not part of my regular diet. ? Usually Vietnamese food can be pretty veg-friendly but this place is run by Filipinos, so it’s definitely not authentic and it’s most definitely tainted with unknown types of meat. Given my experience I highly doubt their “veggie” pho broth is meat-free.

Lower your expectations, they are consistently disappointing.

I pretty much only order their chicken curry. It's yummy but I wish they offer a variety of quality foods

Their pho soups are alright and I like how for a Vietnamese sandwich shop, they do the sandwich selection almost like a Subway sandwich shop in allowing to customize your own banh mi sandwich.

This is a great place to fill yourself up for a reasonable price on campus. They will make you a custom sandwich, or a custom pho, or they have several specialty items. My go to here is the eggplant and tofu curry with brown rice. All of the curries come with your choice of white or brown rice or french bread. I don't think anything cost more than $7 or $8, and it's all pretty delicious and filling. For those who want an adult beverage, Manoa Gardens is attached to the same seating area as Ba-le.

For healthy food on campus, this is the place to eat. Very good food and affordable prices. I will also add that you don't pay tax on your food as well. The menu is smaller than your BaLe outside of campus but still the most common menu items are sold. There is beef, chicken or tofu Pho to choose from your favorite Pho dishes. They even serve milk tea if you're craving that on campus.
