Went to Basalt with my two adult children for Thanksgiving dinner (the holiday, not the food). Shared squash coconut curry soup and lemon pepper shrimp recommended by waiter. Both were outstandingly good! Entrees included shutome (a sushi grade swordfish) and mushroom risotto, both of which were excellent. And for dessert, mochi brownie and POG mousse, great choices. We tried the rum-based sangria, but didn't care for it and weren't charged for it. Overall, an excellent...
Our family had a wonderful dinner at Basalt. It is tucked away in a market so you actually get away from all the Waikiki madness.
The Salmon Ochuzuke was a highlight as well as the shrimp appetizer.
We wanted to give a specific shout out to our server Matt and all the staff. Matt was extremely kind and was attentive to our every need (specifically with our toddler). The surprise at the end of dinner really blew the experience out of the water.

Basalt is the most surprisingly amazing restaurant during our trip to Oahu. Such a great meal, everything we ordered were so delicious. We loved the ADOBO CHICKEN WINGS, the BOWL OF LOBSTER BISQUE, the RIBEYE STEAK, the MIXED SEAFOOD PAELLA. The perfect meal is not complete until you have the desserts: A Grand Marnier Mousse Cake (must-try) and Basque Cheesecake.
