The old Benihana, now it is called Rockys. We made reservations for 7pm (arrived 6:55pm), got seated at around 8pm, got our drinks 20 min later, and didn't get our food till around 9pm, finished around 9:30pm. The staff seem to be frazzled and exhausted. Our bill came out to $300 for my husband and I, it was just not worth it. The wagyu (Emperor A5, most expensive dish on the menu, $115) was great, lobster was very fishy tasting. All the food was very oily. Everything else including our experience was less than mediocre. The people they sat us with mentioned their reservations were made for 8pm (ours was for 7pm). They did give a Kamaaina discount ($30 off of our bill) but we are Kamaaina, so I dont think that was given to us for our inconvenience. We will NOT be returning. They validated the parking.

Well this was a very pleasing experience i don’t remember who our chef was because it’s been a while but our chef was very funny and skilled, the food was amazing but I noticed it was smaller portions of food compared to competitors like Kyoto steakhouse. One more thing the space felt really cramped compared to once again competition Kyoto steakhouse. but yes this was a very fun experience everybody should have!

Okay so the food was what you would expect and the Chef did his thing but my problems lay with the restaurant itself. They changed the name from Benihana to Rockys and the menu is completely condensed. Not only are there fewer options but the prices are skyrocketed. We paid $175 for a dinner for two at a Benihana? Two drinks and two meals amounted to that much which was very shocking considering you’re getting a lot less than what you would at a normal Benihana’s. I went here for my birthday and the staff was really sweet and they sung which was really nice but the entire experience was not worth what we paid. Super disappointed.

It is not Benihana any more, it’s called Rocky Japanese Steak House. Poor service... the Chef of the table next to us started leaving all the dirty dishes in our table. Food quality was not great. It is was better as Benihana.

Wanted to see if the mai tails were as good as the one near us. They were so very happy

Food was ok but overpriced. The show was short with 4 tricks. The onion vulcano, the dancing shrimp, the shrimp in the pocket and the flying rice bowl. after 20min all is over and the chef leaves and you can finish your meal. Unfortunately we sat on the table with a family in bad mood. So there was no interaction with chef. Other tables had more fun. I always wanted to experience such a show so it was ok. I expected more. Overall it was ok. But I think it will be a one time experience.

Always a favorite! Family friendly and fun! It isn't cheap and prices at the Waikiki Benihana seem steeper than the mainland, about $10 more per dish, but the quality and the experience is there. They do the volcano with a laser but fun nevertheless! Go there, you won't be disappointed and if you have never been, prepare for a memorable experience.

I think your experience depends on the chef. The food is basic but the vibe can be fun. The location is super convenient if you're staying at the hotel and I think they offer a discount for guests.
