Their breads and pastries are so good. My favorite is the sausage dog pastry and the one that has cheese inside (square shaped pastry). They have both savory and sweet options so it's a good variety. Their foods always taste super fresh too.

sometimes the older ladies who work here are pretty dismissive of me because I look young which is kind of a turn off since they're usually nicer to other older customers. a couple of times I wasn't even greeted and met with blank stares after greeting them.but their donuts and pastries are pretty good.Parking: parking in front of the store is chaotic but I just alway park further away and walk.

I usually visit the Kahala Brug. Today I tried the Manoa one. I have to say I won't be back to this one. Basically everything was gone. About to walk out when I see these baskets labeled day old 20 % off. The girl said. There not 20 % off we're getting ready for tomorrow. I said it's labeled day old.20% off. She said that's what we do here. So I took these pictures to show how nicely they're packed and labeled. I'm pretty sure if you put sometimes out labeled that's what a customer should be charged.

Came here on a Sunday at 5:30 pm. Cashier too busy talking to her friends while I'm waiting. She looked at me and continued talking stories to her 2 friends. Bad service. We'll not come here again. Rather go to Pearlridge location.

I love this BRUG as much as I love the other BRUGs I've been to on island; most likely the most consistent bread shop you could ever find. It's one of the smallest BRUG shops so they don't have a lot of wiggle room for shelf space so that does take away the opportunity to experiment or open their menu for more options, but that's okay because the daily breads they serve is the reason why you go to BRUG. You go for your classics, but pick up a new seasonal item while waiting in line. Speaking of, this BRUG shop is very small so depending on the line, you might have to wait outside. I do wish this shop would open an hour earlier to catch more of the morning crowd faster (like me) since theres a Sbux across the street. But I totally understand if it's a staffing issue, shout out to the one male employee holding the fort on 12/22! He was stocking, ringing, and customer serving all with a smile and great attitude and he was....getting his bread LOL. Is that phrase too old already? Anyways, this is the third or fourth BRUG I've reviewed and they're all amazing, so give this one a try if Ala Moana is too crowded for you and you're in the area!

Brug is one of my family's favorite Japanese bakeries. We usually go to the ones at Ala Moana but this location is also conveniently located in Manoa Marketplace. Brug had pumpkin and custard pies available for pre-order for Thanksgiving. We tried to place the order online like their Instagram advised but was not able to. We called this location and asked about pre-orders. They said they had to take down the online form because many locations were already at max capacity. However, the lady I spoke to said they could still take pre-orders for Manoa location. I happily placed my order for pick-up on the day before Thanksgiving. Pick-up was a breeze. I used the Yelp coupon (spend $15+ for a free pastry) and got a strawberry danish. The pies were a hit. The pumpkin pie tasted strongly of pumpkin and had great spice flavor. The custard pie was delicious even though the crust wasn't as good as Lee's. I really liked that it was less sweet than Lee's and made of two layers (one egg and one custard). They always run a gift card special around the holidays. Buy $100 in gift cards and get a $20 bonus card. I usually take advantage of this because we got to Brug's so often!

-10 stars for the EXTREMELY OILY chocolate donut and matcha donut purchased on 12/3/23 at 12:40 p.m. I bought it for my children and it was soooo oily and gross!!!!! I wish I took a video!!!

Brug Bakery in Manoa Marketplace is smaller than the ones located in the Ala Moana Center. The bakery has a fine assortment of sweet and savory items. Most of the baked individual items are priced between $3.50 - $4.50. The bakery is also known for the breads. There was one service person in the store and she answered and suggested items to a customer. Really pleasant and personable service. Free parking right outside. Manoa Marketplace.

I have yet to try the soft serve. Today the machine was not working. I ordered the coffee jelly with milk. I still have to poke it with the straw. Wednesday is senior discount day. Good pasteries but near the end of the day the selection thins out. Staff is usually friendly at this location. I am slowly adding up points on their reward program. The other Brug locations do not have the coffee jelly drink. One can get a coffee jelly drink at Mana the sandwich place - same owner.

We absolutely love this little bakery tucked away on the Manoa Marketplace. It's got that friendly neighborhood feeling that I almost expect someone to yell out "Norm"! Okay, dating myself here. LOL!The staff are extremely helpful and every suggestion they've made has been really tasty. Our favorites are the Toast Bread, which just happens to be vegan and absolutely yummy Japanese bread, the onion roll, and cinnamon monkey bread. This October, they've got an absolutely amazing special, the Cinnamon Custard Croissant Muffin. Good gracious, it's to die for! Don't know why they call it a muffin except maybe the shape. There's no way it tastes anything like a muffin. Go today and try one! You'll be going back before the end of October to get more!UPDATE: Decided to try freezing the Cinnamon Custard Croissant Muffin since it was an October special, and it freezes perfectly! We defrosted them, threw them in the toaster oven, and viola! Yummy goodness from the Heavens for our taste buds!

We love BRUG Bakery! They are also great supporters of Manoa School!

Tasty Japanese-style patisserie/bakery. matcha sweet potato bun was soft and the right level of lightly sweet. Savory spinach cheese pastry was a good snack with flaky, buttery laminated pastry dough. high quality for the price.

Brug has a huge selection of delicious pastries! They change slightly by the day and put out new batches as the day goes on so that you're always buying fresh breads. Highly recommend the onion bread, mentaiko cheese stick, and mentaiko onion roll. Their loafs are also incredibly fluffy Japanese bread - a little pricy for a loaf but for good reason
