I love the whole experience at Chef Chai! The atmosphere was cozy and modern. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food is amazing! I had never even heard of a vegetable terrine before and now I am craving it! Every appetizer and entree, had a twist of detail and unique flavor.

A "don't miss" dining experience. For the past 15 years, we reserve a table each year at Chef Chai. Our dining experience includes the risotto balls, salad, Crispy Fish, and wine. Every culinary detail is mastered to perfection.

A welcoming experience, warm and inviting service. Showpiece appetizers to start and the table enjoyed oxtail (little spicy, very tasty!) and lamb entrees. Bonus points for the exceptional entertainment by Robert Cazimero and his dancers, it made it a night to remember!

One of the best meals I’ve had in Hawaii this trip and the service was also top notch.
Food: recommend the cod (think buttery and melt in your mouth fish). Shrimp curry was also very solid (wasn’t spicy but more curry flavour). Crispy fried fish was also yummy. Every table gets complimentary chicken skewers with peanut sauce and fluffy warm naan bread.
Drinks: old fashion was really good so we had a few of those. Gimlet was very strong if you enjoy some punch.
Ambiance: white table cloth but relaxed. They have a piano for special events and have a private dining area for events.
Service: from the host to our waiter (Brian) was excellent. Very attentive and went above and beyond even though managing several tables.

Katafi shrimp starter was good as always. Black cod was bland I wouldn't order it again. Service was not up to par. When bringing out dishes, starters should be done before bringing out the main dishes. Just piling the plates without timing is not good. Basic understanding of service in a nicer restaurant.

We are always so grateful to enjoy all of what Chai's has to offer to make our special time joyous! We have been to Mother's Day and Christmas and Birthday celebrations at Chai's and we are looking forward to many more celebrations to come! We love our table (Table 30). I have brought my sister Alicia several times and now that my husband is back, we will be coming again and again! Last night we celebrated our 18th Wedding Anniversary because we were not able to celebrate back in November. It was lovely. And Robert is our ‘ohana so it was so marvelous to see him again. Whereas I liked the foie gras creme/brioche appetizer, the portion size was small for the pricing and there could have been more foie gras in the creme. The pan seared sea scallops were primo and the accompanying risotto was excellent.
