We came and celebrated Anniversary 41 Joseph treated us well. Chef made a nice Vegetarian Menu for Lehua and I enjoyed regular menu with Dover Sole See you Soon

For our anniversary, we wanted something special that we hadn't done before so we went to Cafe Miro (in Kaimuki) all the way over the mountain from our home in Kailua. It was worth the trip. We had the "plaisir" menu ... two appetizers, an entree and dessert. We were surprised with a complimentary vichysoisse (I guess an amuse bouche, but it was an ample serving). I had Hokaido scallops and ahi carpaccio as appetizers and a wonderful fresh fish entree. The wine list isn't extensive, but it was more than adequate. It was a Wednesday night, so it wasn't crowded. There was only one waiter, but other staff pitched in to serve entrees so service was just great. Overall a memorable evening with wonderful food. We'll drive allllll the way over the mountain again to enjoy this little treasure.

Never have been disappointed with Chef Kobayashi's dinners. The seafood salad and lamb chops are so tasty. Also the dessert platters with sorbet, cheese cake top off a great meal. Must try restaurant.

Came here with an old time local who promised a good meal. Wasn't disappointed! In fact, this was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The appetizers were out of this world and the entrees exceptional. I had a Mahi dish that was best of show for my week in Honolulu. Service was excellent and pricing reasonable.

Well worth the 10 minute drive away from Waikiki. Delicious food, awesome service. Tasting plate appetiser was fantastic as had a selection of 5. The crab cake was delicious and my fav. Crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside, full of flavour. Classical fish almondine was perfectly executed. Dessert platter was awesome with the brûlée being perfect. Creamy base and crisp toffee top. Classic.

First time that I have tried this French restaurant with its Japanese chef/proprietor. Heard about it from others. We opted for their 3 course menu option and chose their cream of mushroom soup, special salad, lamb chops and desert with a bottle of recommended Pinot. We thought the portions were just about right, flavorful and service was excellent. Would go back there again.

OK food, but not for the prices they charge. Foie gras was excellent. The rest of the meal -- meh. Service was not good at all. Particularly for a supposed five star restaurant. Got the prix fixe menus. After dinner, they promptly delivered the check. We asked what happened to the desest. "Oh, I'll put that order in." A half hour later, and the wine consumed, we finally got desert. The kicker was our guest, who ordered oysters, was sick the entire next day. Not an experience we would repeat.

What a great spot with fantastic food! I can't wait to go back! I loved my meal and coffee. I can't wait to go back and try more delicious options. The ambience of the restaurant is great- it makes you not want to leave. With the old hacienda style makes you feel cozy inside or at a fantastic private party in the courtyard. Parking- I prefer street parking; so bring change. If not there are a few parking lots available.

We were a party of two, stopped in for lunch. The old West decor is beautiful. We started with two herbal drinks: lavender kombucha and hibiscus mint, both refreshing with subtle flavors. My daughter had Apache stew and I had pasta Bolognese, not your typical dishes, lightly spiced and flavorful. I highly recommend the restaurant if you are seeking a unique dining experience in a romantic setting.

We loved it. The food was delicious I had the Ahi Tacos very tasty, but most of all Chef Ignacio made our lunch experience! I loved hearing his stories and his passion for food, people and the Aina made me happy. I purchased ground local venison so I can continue to eat local when possible.

This is a prix fixe restaurant so choices are limited. I didn't care for any of my dishes, but my friend really liked the mushroom soup (delicious) and the crème brulée. The service was really slow. The ambience was okay. The saving grace was the BYOB option. I probably won't return.

I'm happy that they finally reopened! I was trying to take my husband to their old location in Kaka'ako for the longest time but it just never happened due to their closures/special dinner events/etc. However, I was in Kaimuki during lunch and I was finally able to take him here! When we finally made it out for lunch, we went around 1pm and I was worried that they were going to be closed. Fortunately, they were still open (sometimes it's hard to tell since you don't really see the sign and the inside is a bit dim). We sat down inside and helped ourselves to water/utensils/napkins. I'm not sure how much self-service is required but since it seems like our waiter was also our cook, it seemed implied that you would just get your own items. I ordered the apache stew and my husband ordered the venison tacos (he just looooveessss tacos). While both were good, the real winner was the apache stew. I tried my friend's back in the end of 2017 and I thought it was very delicious and I was dying to try it again. It was just as good as that bite I took over a year ago! My husband's tacos were good (this is what I ordered when I went the one time) but they were missing some oomph (like their signature hot sauce). Chef Iggy informed me that he hasn't had time to make the hot sauce since they're not 100% up and running yet. Speaking of Chef Iggy, he has a LOT of great ideas! He just needs a lot of things in order to execute them. I think he should focus on his food and his cured meats which seem to be the winners here. He also has a coffee bar inside of the restaurant, which is totally cool but there are a lot of independent coffee joints in Kaimuki as it is. He also does catering as well. He will be starting his dinner service at the end of the month... I think Thursday-Sunday nights (don't quote me on that). I definitely want to go again. His lunch prices are affordable (around $10/12), which is definitely on par with other places but the food is better here. I told my husband to order me the apache stew once in awhile as a take home dinner option; it was just that delicious!!!

I'm so happy Makana opened in Kaimuki! I loved them when they were in the Downtown/Kakaako area and finding out they moved to my area is super exciting/convenient. Their food is as tasty as ever. Their beef burger was moist and flavorful and my brother really liked their fish tacos. There menu is similar to their old location which was nice and I look forward to when they fully open and diversify their options. The service was extraordinary and it is wonderful interacting with people who truly love what they do and where they work. It's a great reflection on the business and the care involved, as well as the quality you can expect to get from the restaurant. I'd recommend that you I've Makana a try, their food is wonderful and their staff is too! Just keep in mind that they're fairly new and getting off their feet so cut them some slack as they adapt how much of each menu item they need a day and such in case you're disappointed something sold out.

The Ritz cheese cracker sandwiches are to die for. 10/10, recommended to anyone with a will to live. You have NOT lived, until you've come here.

Convenient for a quick bite but the quality of food is inconsistent at times and pricey. The staff are great though!
