That's why I hate Hawaii. I bought a cigar and received a barcode that gave me a 10% discount at the souvenir shop, so when I went to buy two more items, I was told that this code could not be used on souvenirs or coffee beans, even though I had heard that it could be used. At the mai tai bar, leave a tip.
This is a duty free shop at Daniel K. Inouye Airport. Of course it's in a restricted area. Alcohol, cosmetics, etc. are lined up. It's not that cheap.
I found the staff disinterested and rather upstarts. We don't all get dressed to impress or fly. They were snobs in the skin care and fragrance shop and I went into a couple of their others as the seem to have duty free market. I decided not to buy as savings were minimal and I didn't feel served. I found better service in mainland shops than here. I pass thru here both ways on my travels frequently and I won't even bother looking from now on. I was on a whi. To buy some skincare products but their better than you attitude put me off. Unless you really stuck hold off prices aren't great and lousy staff.
Expensive and slow checkou
The customer service is courteous and shopping is easy.
The ladies working there didn’t offer any help at first, even though I was searching for a specific perfume. After smelling a couple perfumes one employee asked “Are you okay” in an angry voice (to which I said yes) then proceeded to stare at me from 1 meter away and follow me until I left the store
Had to buy a charger and plug because I forgot to put them in my take on luggage. Airport cost for these items $45.96.The male middle aged clerk, when I asked him if he was sure they would work on my phone, said he wouldn't know. Why would I buy them???The customer next it line said something to get a better response from clerk.
Real Hawaiian
Got a variety of stuff here for gifts or quick snack whilst waiting for your flight
A duty-free shop inside Honolulu airport, located in Terminal D ? ? (please cross check). There is no state sale tax for merchandises bought from the store irrespect to whether customers are foreigners or US citizens. We did a price check and confirmed items we bought at DFS were a little lower plus no sale tax.
Restaurantji Recommends
Nice airport wish they had more device charging areas.needs more open restaurants. Hope it is different next time round.
This location isn't the correct DFS. The real shop is only open for flights in/out bound from international flights. If you're going to the main land you'll be out of luck.
Nice airport, lack of lounges are negative.
Misinformation! This is not a Duty Free Store! This is a 24hr souvenir shop that carries the DFS logo. The actual duty free shops close early here.
Small airport
