I want there knowing the ownership had changed, so I thought I'd try it. My wife and I usually go there for take outs before the change of owners. I ordered as usual a soft gau gee with fun noodles, black bean and chili sauce. My wife ordered a dinner plate and a side order of crispy gau gee. My expectations fell short. My food was bland and tasteless. It tasted like it was watered down. You would think with all the ingredients I mentioned would be a delicious meal. My wife said the dinner plate, that looked good, was also tasteless. The crispy gau gee was a surprise, it did not taste good. The crispy gau gee meat was tasteless, like they used some strange fillers with the pork. The gau gee really tasted like bad chewy turkey stuffing, but the mustard was good. I learned from friends that they all agreed, Duk Kee is not the same. I later learned that all the previous cooks thier decided to retire. Until they bring back all the AhSook's, I'm afraid they'll end up loosing business or worse. Wake up Duk Kee the people in Hawaii have the most educated palette for good food. Change or go under. Really hope Duk Kee read some post and get with it! I will try them again in a little while and give them a thumbs up or down. Oh well,

Always good consistent food. Never dined in, always takeout. Someday will eat there so will guarantee hot food.

Very sad to learn that new ownership took place, the staffs were replaced and food doesn't taste the same. Don't recommend it.

Lunar New Year lunch here on 02/10/24. Our order: Kau yuk with taro, black bean beef chow fun, fish filets with sweet and sour sauce and sin choy, jai, Peking duck with bun, diced winter melon soup, rice, egg fu yong, and tea. There were seven of us. We wanted to try the new ownership of this restaurant. The place was very busy today. This is expected on the Chinese holiday. The tables appeared clean. Seating was tight. After we placed our order in, service of the dishes were quick. Water and tea refills were constant and removal of used dishes were quick. Service is 5 out of 5 here. The food was as follows: Jai- 4 out of 5. A bit on the sweet side. Oysters are a nice touch. Peking duck with buns-3 out of 5. Not your typical Peking duck. It was on the dry side. The buns were great 5 out of 5. Restaurant also provided us extra hoisin sauce (upon request) for the duck. Black bean beef with chow fun- 3 out of 5. Not much taste to this dish. Beef had an unusual texture. Pounded beef maybe? Winter melon soup-4.5 out of 5. This soup was just right in my humble opinion. The mix of ingredients were flavorful. I enjoyed this dish the most. Kau yuk with taro-4.5 out of 5. Very large serving size. Thick cuts of kau yuk (braised pork) and taro. My dad really enjoyed this dish. Fish filets with sweet and sour sauce and sin choy. 3.5 out of 5 stars. The fish was a bit on the chewy side. The sauce is tasty with the sin choy. Egg fu yong was nondescript. 2 out of 5. It was not fluffy but flat and closer to fried eggs texture. This was my least favorite dish. Rice was fresh and fluffy 5 out of 5. Tea was extremely bland and without taste. 1 out of 5. I'll stick with the water. I met the manager Gavin who thanked us for our patronage. He had a nice personality and he was multitasking ( phone orders, table orders, getting take out ready, and ringing up the charges!). There is one gender free bathroom. It could be cleaner. 3 out of 5. You'll need to go behind the cashier to reach the bathroom. Space here is very limited. Parking is street metered parking or paid parking lot for Happy Days and other restaurants.

New owners the duck kee we loved is gone, everything we got was very bland now my fav egg fu yung in hawaij was awful (bland, thin, over cooked not fluffy and tasty anymore) , oyster sauce watery and bland, everything had tons of bell peppers in it not even things that never had them before (glad im not allergic and just dislike them so could pick them out of my chinese peas) Makes me sad reminds me of mccully choo suey decades ago went in one day was my usual and go in 3 days later and everything was different and not as good. Cant imagine too many of duk kees customers sticking around.

Excellent food as usual. I hope the new owners continue with the same cook. Ordered takeout this evening.

I've been eating here since I was young. And now I can take my kids here too. The food is excellent! The workers remember me from when I used to eat there with my grandma. I always get the kung pao chicken, roast duck, crispy skin chicken, scallop soup, fried oysters, and crispy gau gee. Not all at once but those are the dishes I have eaten but I know I'm leaving a lot of others out. The dine in area reminds me of an old Chinese restaurant. Which I don't mind because I like the nostalgia. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

This place have been here since YingYang for over 20 years that I know of whenever we had family gatherings we were there and as family grew we ended up with two tables of ten was very busy back then you couldn't get in without a reservation since my father in-law passed away his favorite restaurant we haven't gone as much but as I read some of reviews here I'll be sure to order takeout since many of our favorites Chinese restaurants have closed since Pandemic one right across Kahala Mall But Duk still is go to places for Woo Gau Gee Min by myself or Duck Noodle Soup Yum Thinking about it all making me hungry think I'll go tomorrow for lunch since lately I've been going to eat only Pho lately See you tomorrow bye for now

I give 5 stars for service because they maybe busy but always get ur order. It can get very busy with take out orders however they got a system among themselves that seems like an orderly chaos and are still smiling and accommodating.

Today my Uncle wanted to try this Chinese Restaurant in Kaimuki on 12th Ave. We came here for an early dinner. My Mom wanted to beat the rush hour traffic. My Uncle, My Mom, and I all ordered the Dinner plate. When I saw that their Dinner plate had three Krispy gau gee I was excited. No wonder my Uncle wanted to come here because he sure loves Krispy gau gee too. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the food here is very tasty and good. I loved the Fried Rice, Kau yuk, and the gau gee the most. The kau yuk was the best that I ever had and so soft and tender. Definetly recommend this chinese restaurant and we will definetly return. The food here is So tasty and good. Kung hei fat choy !!
