I love Hawaii for everything it offers. People say you can be in many places and forget about it, but not Hawaii. Eat the street is one of those things you cannot forget

Really fun event to spend your Friday evening out! Takes place the last Friday of every month, and each one is themed differently. Many, many food choices, lots of desserts and drinks. Anybody's cravings will be satisfied. Most meals are right around 10$ a plate. One thing I dearly kiss is the beer garden, would be spending a lot more time if the beer garden was still present. Please bring back the liquor license! We'll work it and arrive early as parking becomes a fight, and food topically sells out.

Eat The Street has officially MOVED from the old fishermen's wharf to the 747 Ala Moana blvd, which is the big grassy field near the UH Medical school. Same great food, same great people, arguably better parking, but a new location.

Don't go looking for this place - it doesn't exist.

Great time in Kaka'ako! Lots of variety in options, something for everyone! So ono! I especially love the art displays. Such a great opportunity for local chefs and artists to exhibit their work and gain exposure! 😄

I gave it multiple tries but always left rather disappointed in their attempts to hold themed Eat the Street events. It's not themed--it's the same vendors with lame attempts to go with the theme. For instance, their "Garlicfest" sounds like every vendor should have a garlic dish, right? Well, there was no garlic-flavored lemonade or even the pickled garlic that we love so much in Hawaii. Sure, maybe not every vendor needs to have the themed ingredient or culture, but to be very generous, I expect at least half of the vendors to follow the theme in some way. I did not ever see this attempted. Overall, the food tastes fine, but is somewhat pricey if you want to try more than one stall. And what's the point in coming if you only eat from one place? I'll stay home next time.

It's nice. Except, I can't get over that every stand makes one of everything they have, just for display. Then they throw it out at the end of the night. In front of the homeless. :/

Plenty of parking and space for everyone, make sure to bring a blanket to sit on so you're not on the itchy grass. You see the regulars there such as ICE HNL that serves instagram worthy drinks, the famous pineapple bowl dish from Mega Load truck. My favorite new spot there was Gyozilla, the had the bacon wrapped, Korean rice cake stick, it was simple yet tasted heavenly, and the okonomiyaki gyoza was perfect. Another food truck that serves amazing food was one serving fresh Jamaican dishes, they were grilling j*** chicken on the grill, and they made the most tender ox-tail I've ever had in my life.

Went to Eat the Streets, Garlic, and I have to say that I'm disappointed. I didn't really see anything that was new and looked tasty and had something to do with Garlic, which I love. Garlic Edamame is great, but soooooooo common that everyone sells it or makes it. So, I went with what I thought would be a great stand-by, 1/4 rack ribs plate-3 ribs drenched in a super sweet red sauce, with two (that's 2) sides. It was Donnie's BBQ, and with the smoker in the back the smell was heavenly. Well the ribs were pretty juicy-in the middle of the rib. The edges were a bit over done and dry, probably the reason for the 1/2 cup of sauce at the bottom of my Styrofoam container. And the ribs were large, lots of meat, good smoke flavor, but if there was a rub used I couldn't taste it. Again, it might have been the drenching of sauce. As for the sides, well w/out the sides the 1/4 rack was $10.00. Not too bad. With the sides as a plate lunch the cost was $15.00. The sides I chose was potato salad and cole slaw. Again sugar or sweetener was the big taste I got. And heavy mustard in the potato slaw, and the size was one of those dipping sauce containers. $2.50 a piece? You have got to be kidding me. Very disappointing. Next door the truck was a local food truck that I didn't get the name to, but they had a kalua pig sandwhich on I think purple potato buns. The girl next to me was eating that, and it looked good, and I thought I could get that just about anywhere. They did have fish tacos, which I love. Unfortunately for me their tacos was made with Marlin and looked liked Gorton's fish sticks on flour totillas with corn and cabbage and a sauce. Not all that appealing, especially at $12.00 for only 2 tacos, and the pieces of deep fried fish sticks (with mega breading) looked about 2 ounce pieces. The girl next to me with the Kalua pig sandwhich offered me some of her sweet potato garlic fries and they were good, crispy/crunchy salty/sweet garlic goodness. YUMMMMM. All in all, disappointing, especially with no type of entertainment.

Check out Soul Patrol, a Southern and Pacific islands fusion cuisine. The feta Mac and Cheese, OMG. And the chicken was the epitome of Southern Flavor. (Sorry, no pics... I was grinding too fast!) Also, Team Bing snow cream, was interesting. Instagram-worthy but not as tasty as it looks. Pro: Lots of great food truck choices, wide open area, music, fun ambiance. Con: so many homeless in the surrounding area.

This place is great for meeting up with friends, families, and groups of all sizes. With so many food trucks here, everyone should be able to find something satisfying to eat. The theme here is always changing, and most of the food trucks will offer at least a dish that is inspired by the current theme. It had been a while since we've come to an Eat The Street. But this month the theme was BACON! So, well, I had to make an appearance and try all the bacons... Okay, I didn't really try all of them, but the few I did try were really good: Mochi Labs' bacon caramel mochi cupcake (their lilikoi and chantilly samples were ono!), Nosh's bacon jalapeí±o filled cheese bites, Donnie's BBQ Smoke House pork belly. They were all fantastic!!!
