I really appreciated meeting Daya. He pounds the ‘awa root himself and is meticulous about its care, cultivation, and use. He helped me find ‘awa that would be appropriate for a couple of ceremony that we have coming up and I am very grateful for that. We had a very nice and meaningful conversation and I hope to be back sooner rather than later.

Owner is rude beyond words. Refused to sell me the kava I asked for because “it’s too strong” - even though I own a Kava bar and drink kava every day…. Rude and ignorant, clearly doesn’t get much business as his shop is a small, messy, cluttered joke. Avoid this place at all cost.

Weird vibe, not very personable

Update(post response): So, I was actually in a good mood looking forward to getting some kava but caught the above. On the other side of the coin, maybe you were having a bad day... You serviced me, the product was good, and at a good price. Take the comment for what its worth and improve on it. At least I didn't fully put you on blast like the below. Your response speaks for itself.

Guys, this is some kind of bullshit because we came with a girl, we were already rude right at the entrance, we haven't even entered this place yet, we've already been insulted. I don't recommend this place to you, because people have mental problems with their heads. If you don't want to spoil your mood for a whole month, then don't go in

We travel to many different kava bars around the world and this one was a very unique experience. Daya is very knowledgeable and passionate about his kava that he makes it on site even from smashing down the root. It was the best tasting kava we've ever had and sharing with us how he makes it will be invaluable in the future. Luckily he ships worldwide!

Friendly guy at first and then we asked if he had change. Warning!! “DO NOT ASK FOR CHANGE”, he immediately flipped, started telling us it was a stupid question, and continued to explain how stupid we were. Decent kava for a decent price, but beware he can immediately flip from happy to angry. He told us to finish the kava and to get out. Very confusing situation

$50/lb for good quality kava. The kava is some of the strongest kava I've tried. He lets you sample before you buy and explains the process for making your own kava. I will definitely be back.

The owner, Daya is a very kind man. He gave us clementines and showed us how he makes the kava since we arrived as he was preparing it. We were very happy with the service here and highly recommend. This is a good kava shop to support.

Note, hard to find hole in the wall spot

Guy was friendly enough at first, but as he was finishing up making my kava I gave him some money and asked for some change. He completely shifted his tone and got really offended that I asked for change, then went on a tirade about how I'm not local and 'there's real locals that come here like -insert well known reggae artist-" his rudeness turned the dinginess of the establishment from a cool and rustic vibe into a dirty and unkempt one.

Great basic place. Good vibes. Ambiance is literally you’re sitting in between parked cars under cover with lights strung above. The guy who runs it is mellow and helpful. Very chill and low key.

Kava and owner are great. Very very unassuming location, and small stall style with a shared bathroom.

Daya was welcoming, intent listener and very open about his experiences and sharing. Bottles were $10/each, and he came out and drank with us, instructing on how to best drink it, and frequently checking up on us.

It’s not the ambiance you’re here for— it’s the kava and good vibes with a good shared experience if you’re open to it.

Nowhere to sit, besides in a parking lot. We left after we arrived there. Nice worker though!
