Where do I begin? It's been over a year since we've been here; life happens. Management changed and the menu changed and was awesome. I am SOOOOOO happy we came. Brought my mom and dad. Michael, our server, was knowledgable, cute, and felt like family. We ordered burrata (twice), salmon (twice), meatballs, margarita pizza (best flatbread pizza I EVER had). Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was so good. Everyone had their favorite. I'm a pizza junkie; pizzahut is pau for me. My folks loved the salmon. I loved the burrata. My folks visiting 2 weeks ending thursday. This was THE BEST meal we've had. Glad I live so close. God bless formaggio, Chef, Michael. We'll be back. My husband who has cancer was eating everything! We all thoroughly enjoyed dinner and Michael.

I am from Maui, so I asked my son to pick out a place for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner. The only requirement I had was that they have escargots. And it was awesome.Well, this is where he picked and I was very satisfied. It's a cozy dark kind of romantic place. The music was a pleasant surprise. And she even got a little dessert for her birthday with a candle. And little did I know my son had been there A few times before this. If I could drink I would've tasted all their variety of wines. Tempting. When you get there, check out the menu!

I rarely ever begin a review with the service, but holy moly! This place really takes the cake. I wish I could remember the name of our server but he was honestly one of the best severs, EVER. He was so helpful and non-judgmental of my wine ignorance. I was able to explain what I liked and didn't like in terms of taste and he brought me samples of 3 wines that I may enjoy (even though he knew exactly which one was the right choice). I ended up getting a cheese and prosciutto appetizer and the burger. I honestly can't remember what my friend ordered, probably because we had so much fun on the wine! Ha! While this was definitely more of a splurge meal, it was well worth it.

Located in Market City (down by Ben Franklin and Fujioka's), Formaggio is a cute low-key wine bar with great service and good vibes. TIP #1: our server offered me wine samples because I was between two different wines. If you're torn between two, ask for a sample! I ended up getting a bottle of wine for my other half and I to share based on the sample. TIP #2: check in on Yelp! You get a free dessert (the one that came with check-in was the white chocolate covered gelato heart with strawberries!) TIP #3: check out Happy Hour! I was so glad to have gotten a margarita pizza for $10.75 during HH (normally ~$16). Other things I loved: - food was pretty good! In addition to the Margarita pizza, my fiancé and I also shared the pork belly tacos and a Caesar salad. - They also have live music after 8:00pm, which was fun! The only thing is that they only really knew songs from late 90s, early 2000s. Hopefully next time we go back, they will have expanded their song selection. - this place is pretty dark, so their wine menus lit up (like big Kindles!) - service was attentive and food came out pretty quickly - they let us split checks, and asked us at the beginning of the meal which was awesome Next time, I would want to try the mushroom pizza and the lobster Mac and cheese! Cheers to Formaggio Wine Bar in Market City! Thank you for accommodating our large party last minute.

Perfect for date night, perfect for intimate group nights. Sometimes they have live music which is such a lovely surprise when they do. Food is always good with the wine! Knowledgeable servers and bartenders and the owner Niraj is amazing. So friendly and makes you feel welcomed each time we go in!! They make you feel like family and it's no wonder why they have so many regulars, it's a good time with great wine.

I trusted this restaurant for my families Christmas Eve dinner...it was a DISASTER. The short rib was literally sloshed onto my plate and the spoon it came with had slipped into the sauce so when I serve myself, my hand got all dirty. I wasn't impressed

I consider this place Kaimuki's hidden gem. A great place to drink and relax. Outside doorway and discreet restaurant frontage truly hides a hidden wine cellar. Great place for a date, nice ambiance, cool atmosphere, live music, friendly bartenders and great customer service. Menu offerings is not very extensive but well suited for the casual wine bar. Don't let the menu fool you though. Great assortment of food items. I love the cheese platter and the freshly baked bread. Their pizzas compliment their wines perfectly. Great selection of wines without the over the top prices. This place has always been a favorite of mine. Parking is limited so be patient and allow extra time. Make reservations ahead of time just in case this place gets crowded. Suggest arriving during their happy hour.

Stumbled upon this gem after craft shopping a couple doors down. On a weekday evening, during the holiday's, the chaos was kept outside while inside, we found a dimly lit, French-alley vibe. The baked lobster mac & cheese was actually not served with macaroni but pieces of lasagna (possibly?). Regardless, it was tasty & served with a large salad tossed in a vinaigrette. My partner had short ribs and it tenderly melted with juicy flavor. We were still hungry so we ordered appetizers. They were flexible on adding salami to a Caesar salad (which turned out delicious) & the cheese bread was so filling, I had to take it home. To top it off, their cocktail wines are crafted perfectly and someone always made sure our glasses were never empty to our liking! What great service and perfectly prepared food. We loved everything about this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

This is a great wine bar. Excellent wine selections by the glass, as well as cocktails. Pizza and other dishes mostly $16 or less. Plus a late night happy hour. We tend to go here after theatre, and the owner is so nice.

I enjoy live music, beer and good food. Rotating singer on most nights. Usually someone on a guitar singing. They have a late night HH with a special food and drink menu. So they might not have a big variety of beer but it will do. The HH gin and tonics do not dissapoints. The pizzas are like creme cracker crust. It looks like an older wine cellar, dark and cozy.

Service was bad. I realize it was crowded but still..slow bad service. Waiter said he'd bring more water....we'd still be waiting if I hadn't asked about it. When the water finally came the waiter asked my hubby how his meal and wine were and then walked away....what was I not sitting there eating too? Totally ignored me. Food was nothing special.

Needed a late-night hangout for our ladies' night (with)out (kids) so we could continue the conversation. Luckily, Formaggio's is open till midnight! Two of us hadn't been there in ages, and one of us had never been. Great choice! We all had a wine flight (Happy Hour is from 10-11!) And our waiter was helpful and informative. Although we had already eaten dinner... And second dinner... We thought we should order the Formaggio Della casa (aka a cheese platter). The wines were fun to explore, and the cheese/bread/fruit were pretty basic, but still provided a good counterpart. Note to self: Great place to go for a drink as long as you don't intend to have any private conversation. The music was good! (Just a little too loud to talk over.)

We usually really like it here BUT WTF??? 1. We didnt receive my fiance's entree. (Shrimp pesto linguine) 2. Our waiter disappears in the middle of our meal and doesnt say anything so we are waiting for our food, the other person takes over and doesnt come to check on us or tell us he is taking over or tell us that our entree is coming.(which it wasnt) 3. He finally comes over after we STARE HIM DOWN so we tell him forget it! We just want the check and want to leave because we are just fuming at that point (it's been 30-45 mintues of waiting for just his entree when I have my food already and all our drinks). All he says is ok, I'll get the check and a box. NO SORRY OR ILL CHECK WHAT HAPPENED, NOTHING. Are you kidding me? We ordered all at one time. There was nothing complicated about what we ordered. And we go there alot and we usually tip 25%+ so what gives?!?!? The food is very good but the service was such s*** tonight... it ruined our dinner!

This used to be a fun little spot with good live music, snacks, and drinks for a girls night out or casual date but their waitress on my last visit has me searching for a new hangout spot. She slammed everything on the table, talked to us rudely and never came around to check on us or refill drinks. Long story short, she was one of the most unpleasant waitress I've ever had anywhere. Maybe I'll check this place out again in a year. I hope by then they will have hired someone new.
