This place was a bit of a disappointment, but maybe we got there too late. I was expecting the typical place with picnic benches, but there is no place to eat there, so you can only do take out. The poke was really good, plate lunch options good and very big portions, but no BBQ options.

Poke was fresh but way too salty. Would be much more delicious if they cut down on the salt. Lechon was very good albeit slightly dry (but that cuts down on the fat)

Got the poke + lechon bowl and it was delicious! I got the Ruger Ahi and it might have been one favorite pokes. The lechon was still warm. Definitely get the cucumber kimchi as your side, it pairs perfectly.

We all know it's a true struggle to have to pick one out of many delicious-looking poke seafood options, especially if you always wanna try a little bit of everything like I do.
So I'm so glad that they offer free sampling before you order! The staffs are friendly and give great recommendation! Overall we're super satisfied with our order.
They also offer a mini poke option if you're doing poke hopping like we were. Additionally, there's a section of discounted overnight poke! (still perfectly edible and delicious of course)

Solid place to get your local Hawaiian and Filipino grindz. It’s a place hidden away from Waikiki and close proximity to Kapiolani Community College. Nothing fancy, it has a hole in the wall feel, Workers are friendly, and food is good. Local Hawaiian and Filipino Plate lunches, poke bowls, and snacks.
Inflation sucks but this is Hawaii. The poke special is ~$30/lb, it’s high but it’s good.
Mixed Plate 2choice combination plate lunches were $17.99 each. Add lechon and it’s $21.99.
I got the Kalua Pig and Squid luau. No worries tourists, it’s not exactly squid, it’s actually octopus chopped small in luau leaves. But they call it squid luau. The Kalua pig was solid, moist, and flavorful.
The squid luau was good too, more on the sweeter side.
I also got another mixed plate of the pork adobo and sari sari. That was delicious as well.
The spam Musubis were delicious. Chicken Musubi was ok.
Parking: Only get a handful of parking spots but if busy, can park on the street.

Try the ultimate poke bowl. You can have the best of both worlds - Hawaiian and Phillipino fare. Their lechon is made well and you can sample everything before you buy. Also, the chilli pepper water is a unique dip that complements lechon and rice. Affordable prices as you get at least 2 meals out of 1 plate. Conveniently in walking distance of Koko Head and great for a post hike meal. There are no tables inside or outside.

Have known about ruger market for about 25yrs but never actually went there until a few days ago for the first time. I went to pick up an online order. Wanted to check out the store for a few seconds as I entered to see what they had, might be a new go to spot? Anyways immediately upon entering lady behind the register starts yelling at me. I actually didnt think she was talking to me because who does that? I was literally in the store 10 seconds just checking out what they had but she kept yelling rudely. Tried to be nice but she continued to make rude comments I Won’t step in this store as long as I live if all possible luckily I only had to go through this once.
Lechon with spicy ahi. The best!
