As a Korean (born and raised), I can assure anyone this is the most authentic Korean restaurant in Hawaii. Most of the people who come here are Koreans living in Hawaii that are old enough to recognize the original, authentic dish. Not some fusion, watered down, americanized and overpriced other restaurants that claim they are authentic. I grew up eating lots of country style dish from my grandma and this place is the closest place I could find that has the same style of foods (strong spices, lots of salted banchans, namul, various soup, etc.).

I got to try the Short-Rib Soup today for $15.95 and it was definitely a WOW! The soup was very good and they gave so much of side dishes and they all tasted so good. The service was very friendly and efficient. This place is a gem.

I’ve been to over a dozen Korean restaurants on the island since 2018, but I keep coming back to this one—for the taste, price, and service. The food here is some of the most authentically delicious Korean cuisine I’ve found outside Korea, reminiscent of those hidden gem, back-alley spots in Korea.
Portions are generous, the banchan spread is solid, and most importantly the flavors are consistently spot-on. Their lunch and happy hour specials (before 7 PM) are a great deal so I usually go then.
Favorites: the angler fish, pork backbone soup, grilled pork belly, and honestly, any of the soups

A humble hole in the wall that serves authentic Korean food. We got Gamjatang (pork & potato) soup, it was delicious and came on a portable stove. The portion was huge and filled 4 of us. We also got the Octopus and Noodle stir fried, it had great flavor. The star of the dinner would be the seafood scallion pancake, it was crispy but it had some good chew to it. The banchan (side dishes) was great too. We didn’t wait long until the food came. The lady was very nice serving the soup to everyone’s bowl. Everything was really nice. Would definitely come back!

Amazing hole-in-the-wall! I saw this restaurant while on the way to my hotel in Waikiki and wanted to try it out just based on the pictures displayed on their window. As my first introduction to Honolulu cuisine, the Frog House did not disappoint! My husband and I ordered soups, and initially, I got food envy watching other customers get dishes for their Korean grill. As soon as the spicy beef and vegetable soup I'd ordered arrived, my envy disappeared completely. I only have a week here, but I know I am going back to enjoy another meal at the Frog House! The only downside to this restaurant is the bathroom was not very clean.
