Went there with a group of co-workers. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was like I was in Japan. The choices were great. They open at 7 am and close at 3 am. They have different menus for different times like breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight diner. Service was awesome. I feel sorry because they had to turn away so many people because they were packed. They take reservations. I'm looking forward to eating breakfast there.

Amazing food and service but on top of that very honest and trustworthy staff.

Forgot a pouch which had my passport, money and belongings and it was not even opened. Appreciate the staff for being so honest and respectful!

I like it. Udon and noodle dishes are delicious and worth the price, but the wait for the food is a bit long. I recommend you guys to eat something to fill your stomach before going to the restaurant. Tonkatsu is as delicious as the famous Waikiki restaurant, but at a cheaper price. Don't miss the soup in the noodle dishes! Every dish is delicious. I finish the bowl every time.

A friend and I needed to kill some time before heading to watch the University of Hawaii men’s basketball game so decided to stop here. And boy are we glad we did. This place was busy when we got there but they were still able to squeeze us in at the counter which I highly recommend.

We watched the fry chef prepare all the delicious kushikatsu that were ordered and fry them to perfection. We enjoyed an assortment ourselves over a nice cold Asahi draft beer. Definitely get the fried chicken wing, Tamago egg, pork, beef, salmon and hasu.

The food was fantastic and service was great. Loved the ambiance as well. We’ll definitely be back here again soon. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Kid-friendliness: Great for kids too.

Proper Izakaya with traditional Japanese dishes, meets Southwest American Diner/greasy spoon vibe and it’s executed flawlessly. Will definitely dine here again.

I only give 3 stars because our food came out pretty late and water was never refilled. One dish was just completely forgotten. Its possible that this was an exception and not the usual. The food was pretty good, I recommend the beef sticks!

Hey guys. Love this place usually, but more times than not, we never get greeted upon entering. Tonight, walked in, 4 of us. No one says hi, and host/server walks right past us. I have to actually ask, “Hey, is there room for 4? Or no?” A little greeting or “I’ll be right with you!” goes a long way.

Our first choice of Tori Ton was booked up solid for a Friday night, so my friends and I decided on Fujiyama Texas Izakaya after calling and confirming they had a table for six available. As we entered we were immediately greeted and seated. After placing our order for Izakaya, Japanese comfort foods, and drinks that’s when our service went downhill. One of my friends ordered a Lilikoi Lychee Chuhai, but requested only Lilikoi. The waitress agreed it was possible, however instead served her the Lilikoi Lychee without alcohol. Basically a drink my friend did not not order, so after a sip she waved the waitress down and the waitress insisted my friend was wrong even though we all heard the order. The cringe part is when the waitress became confrontational and gave attitude the entire night. Realize our table ordered lots of food & drink. Overall the skewers, dishes, curries were delish. The Japanese beer… well it’s always good. The vibe was good except for that one sour waitress. We still tipped as normal, but most of us agreed on never returning (we’ll spend elsewhere).

I was searching for a restaurant that served a fresh and not so heavy breakfast. Fujiyama Texas met not only this requirement, but the flavors were subtle yet amazing. I ordered the Mochi Udon (Rice Cake Wrapped in Fried Tofu) w/ Japanese Mixed Rice (Shitake & Shiimej Mushrooms, Carrot, and Chikuwa Mixed) & Tataki Cucumber.
The mochi was silky within the tofu skin, and absorbed the flavorful broth. This absorption added a nice burst of the broth in my mouth. The Udon noodles were prepared well, and still maintain a nice chewy texture. I added an egg which brought a richness to the dish. The Tataki Cucumber balanced out the flavor profile with some sweetness. The flavor of the rice could be naturally experienced, while the mushrooms, carrots, and Chikuwa mix married nicely without overpowering. The cup of tea cleared the palate for each bite, and the warmth of the owners and space is what I was also searching for. I plan to make this a cornerstone to my regular spots for food!
