A fantastic experience, intimate and personable. The food had inventive and also very classic moments. It's advertised as being omakase with a Mexican influence, and i didn't find that to be very true. Maybe in a couple spots, but the food was fantastic and the staff skilled knowledgeable and attentive. 10/10 would do it again and would also refer anyone to this for a great experience

Previous reviews were helpful for us to find the Buho restaurant/bar/dance venue and asking the receptionist who guided us to chill at the bar as we arrived early. True, there is no Fukurou signage on the street and anywhere else so it is like a speakeasy. Buho and Fukurou mean Owl in both Mexican and Japanese. One of the sushi chef came to fetch us along the rest of the eight guests into the back (you'll never find it otherwise). Found ourselves in a small high ceiling room with an L shaped sushi counter, which resulted in an intimate setting. The two sushi chefs, guided us one by one through the 12 courses. Each course was nicely paced and the 12 different morsels were exquisite including the appropriate finishing dessert. Prior to dessert we were asked if we wanted to add on any à la carte sushi, which I asked for Uni gunkan style. Because it was my wife's and another guest's birthday, they brought out a special tray where the sushi chef sprinkled it with Matcha powder and wrote a happy birthday message in it with beautiful flair. Very touching gesture. Each party was asked which one course they liked best and it was hard to choose. Another guest was a returnee and we will go again. In summary, we're going back again for we found both sushi chefs very experienced in their craft and professionally sensitive to the customer's satisfaction. Price? More than reasonable.

Our first omakase experience and it did not disappoint. The chefs were both engaging and loved the small group dining experience, total of 8 guests at our seating. 10/10

Experience was amazing and intimate. The chefs interacted with us all, and made us feel comfortable for our first time omakase. I've never had better fish in my life here in the U.S.

Fabulous presentation, reasonable price and amazing flavor combinations. Definite must try. Located in a former storage closet of a large nightclub so try to skip the Tuesday late seating The club has Taco Tuesdays with extremely loud music which starts just as the late seating starts. The noise is well muffled at the restaurant except for the thumping bass and the wall of noise that comes when the door to the restaurant is opened. It's still an amazing experience, but the artistry of the food deserves more respect

The Omakase experience never fails as we were treated to fresh ingredients, innovative creations, and mouth watering dishes from Chef Miki! Paired with champagne for our anniversary, it was a lovely evening we won't forget!

Amazing food and a fun dining experience. This was our most memorable and enjoyable meal in Hawaii.

Similar limited seating like other omakase restaurants but this one has a speakeasy flair. Unique dishes, especially the desert, and all flavorful. You can add ala cart dishes at the end before they serve desert to all patrons. Definitely worth the price!

This is hands down my favorite omakase spot. I've never had a single bad experience here, the food is always fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Each dish feels so intentional, and I love that Chef Miki takes the time to explain every course, which really adds to the experience and makes it feel personal. One of my favorite parts of coming here is the lemon sour. Tomo makes them fresh to order, literally cutting the lemons by hand and removing the seeds! It's such a thoughtful touch, and honestly the best lemon sour I've ever had. Between the incredible food, the warm hospitality, and the attention to detail, this place is a gem. Can't recommend it enough!

It's a small restaurant inside the Wikki Shopping Plaza. Go to the Búho Cocina y Cantina reception and mention Fukurou. The receptionist will bring you to the restaurant which is at the left hand corner at the back. Food was top quality. Service was attentive. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food. It was an enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our dinner, chef was super nice and accommodating, outstanding food. Not easy to find location, it's inside Mexican restaurant besides that everything was great

One of the BEST omakase discoveries ever! We were lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation from someone who clearly had to cancel last minute. And lucky we were! From the venue, to the energy of and interactive with the chefs, to the storytelling and finally the actually gastronomic experience itself... Fukurou definitely delivered on expectations. If I could give a 6 star, I would. We could tell there was so much thought put into the cadence of the menu, the choice of flavors and presentation. Hands down our fave item was the wagyu slider - to die for. The chefs were also extremely personable and the intimate setting of 8 people allowed us to get lost in a different world with the chefs for a few hours. Definitely one of the high points of our Hawaiian vacation (right after seeing lava at Kīlauea volcano). Thank you chefs for such an enjoyable night!

I took my parents to Fukurou for their first omakase experience, and everyone loved it so much. The food was delicious with amazing presentation.
Tako with shiso leaves and katsuobushi was a great starter, followed by tuna with quail egg yolk, which was so savory and creamy. All of the nigiri were perfectly made with fresh fish and perfectly seasoned shari. Crispy sushi rice with tuna and wasabi avocado was super delicious. The noodle served in an ice bowl was unexpected, but also great. Wagyu pieces melted in the mouth, and the churros and the ice cream at the end were a perfect way to end the meal.
The chefs were so professional and also friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect to focus on food and family. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we were served and left with a full stomach.
Highly recommend Fukurou to anyone wanting a nice family dinner, date night, or a solo dinner! 🦉

Speakeasy Omakase that is tucked behind another restaurant (Buho), thankfully I read reviews before hand to navigate or else we would have been lost ducks! The 12 course meal for $90 was perfect for us. Every piece was intricately made and tastes delicious.

I would skip out on their Oolong Hai - that drink threw me off.
