OMG, this was the best mapo tofu of my life!!! I love Gochi Grill for the homemade style of their food, good portions and prices. And of course, great flavor.

came here at 1pm on a Tuesday and snagged the last 2 chicken karaage plates! so glad we got lucky cos this chicken was amazing!! it comes with a delicious ginger scallion sauce that just adds the perfect touch to the crispy, tender chicken. the portion of rice was generous (and necessary because of those sodium levels) and they also added a side of mac/potato salad. they post their daily menu on the door every week, so make sure you know what they have available or mark what day you want to go if there's something in particular that you want. I'll definitely be back to try out their other plates!

First time trying Gochi Grill and will definitely be back. Tried the eggplant katsu with pork hash stuffing. Beautiful presentation and crunch, perfectly cooked and seasoned, maybe just a teensy bit salty but the rice helped cut the sodium load for us. The parking in downtown is humbug, but will return to try their other dishes. I especially want to try the fresh fish and the more unusual dishes as well as return for the pork hash dishes. The instagram postings are super helpful and wish that ordering were a bit more streamlined. Remember-- CASH ONLY!

Decided to give this place a try. Husband likes to try new places to eat. He loves meatloaf and we decided to order the seared meatloaf. It turned out really good. They give out a good portion of rice & meatloaf and also comes with a croquette.. The restaurant is a cash only place so be prepared to have cash on hand since there is no near atm. Definitely will be coming back to be trying out their other food selections.

If you're in downtown for lunch, must try! They switch up their menu daily but usually have similar items for everyday of the week. For example I think on Wednesday they normally have meatloaf. The meatloaf is always so good and filling!! It comes with rice, 3 pieces of meatloaf, Mac salad, and a croquette. The meatloaf is so tasty with the gravy, mushrooms, and truffle oil. One time they had salmon chazuke on the menu which I tried. It was good but the broth was on the salty side. I've also had the salmon katsu which was delicious. The pieces were nice and crispy and it came with a dipping aioli. They also have frozen/heat at home meals that you can buy for dinner if you don't feel like cooking. Prices are a little more around $12 - $15 but definitely worth it.

Just had the cold ginger chicken (C&C) for lunch today. This is not your typical cgc. The flavor was simple and light. The cold ginger chicken was placed on a flat piece of tofu. To the side of it was skinned eggplant placed over, what I think was, blanched choi sum. The meal came with a cold light liquid (sauce) which added just the right flavor to the taste. It wasn't overpowering but instead, enhanced the flavors ever-so-slightly. This was a very delicate and well-balanced meal. If you're into full/bold flavors, this dish is not for you. I liken the taste to a Japanese fish-based clear broth soup with a small piece of tofu and a sprig of mitsuba. A sort of kaiseki dish. Would I eat this again? Most definitely.

OMG!!!! Had the salmon chazuke for lunch today. It was amazing. I don't usually finish my lunch but I ate it all. It was sooo good. Everything I have eaten at gochi grill is excellent but today's lunch i had to write a yelp review. It made me happy! Thank you.

Reasonably priced food & great service from a family owned business. There’s always something new to try. They never disappoint!

I haven't been here for a long time, Yesterday, I met my friend for lunch. Stewie griffin on Thursday menu had caught my eye. My order was stewie griffin stew. My friend ordered salmon and 2 stewie griffin stew. I loved their take of beef stew which was beef, carrot, cheese, bacon, and mashed potatoes on bottom. This was great combination of flavors. Per employee, stew is named after Stewie Griffin who is his favorite character. I definitely will come again and keep updated of their daily menu on instagram at gochigrill.

THIS PLACE IS GREAT !!! Now I can get several home-cooked meals without any home-cooking !!! I preordered both the short rib stew and the chicken jook via Instagram. It was all packed and ready to go when I arrived. I tasted both of them before I put them in the refrigerator and they were both delicious especially the jook. Now I have another great place to get good meals without any fuss.

They are so close to my office downtown and never been there pre-Covid. Always walked past and thought sounded ok, but not anything special. Well, I was wrong. It is pretty special. I see their specials for the week on IG and just DM my order. Today is Lemongrass karaage chicken. That is good but I think it could use more salt. The kicker is the eggplant. It's naked and soaked in some ponzu-dashi goodness. I could eat a whole plate of that. The seeds creep me out, but that's my own crazy issues. So good... Tomorrow, going for the Salmon skin/grilled salmon/ikura donburi. SO EXCITED for that!

Still not really open again for service. The trick is CHECK THEIR INSTAGRAM! Put those notifications on for when they post. They have been doing pop ups here and there from their store. [FOOD] This time I was prepared and ordered two servings of the OKINAWAN SOBA w SPARERIBS & PORK BELLY. The broth was broke da mouth good. I gave one of the servings to my wife and she never like share her leftover broth with me. The spareribs and pork belly was nice and tender while being very flavorful. I'm glad I got to try this during the Okinawan FEASTival because this is definitely a favorite. Only thing I wish is that I could order a ball of rice to eat with it. Definitely looking forward to their next pop up pick up.

Food was delicious and very gourmet for a bento place. Place gets pretty crowded during lunch hour with all the downtown workers nearby. I would recommend going early before everything is sold out. Tried the seared meatloaf and salmon really tasty. Kind of pricey but if you're looking for good food it won't hurt the pocket too much.
