This was our second luau and let me say, don't let the nay-sayers deter you. The food was excellent and abundant, the pre-show was educational and fun, and the show itself was really good!

Breaking them down in that order:

At the start, the rum punch was REALLY good. The appetizers were tasty and if you mix the poi with either the pineapple or the lomi lomi, it doesn't taste so much like... poi, haha. The main course was a full plate of food that was really tasty. The pork was the best we've had between both trips to Hawaii. And the cake was soft, light, and flavorful. The wait staff was thoughtful as well.

The pre-show had some activities. We got a stamp-on tattoo, a flower bracelet, and listened to the entertaining music. There were some educational pieces sprinkled in and the time went by fast. Shout out to the guy that climbed the palm tree super fast.

Finally, the show itself. Okay, the host had a decent voice and moved things along well. But the two stars that really stole the show were the fire spinning guy (holy hell, guy, that was SUPER impressive), and the guy from Tahiti who was incredibly funny and entertaining.

If I had one critique, I'd say to build in natural breaks for applause. We want to show appreciation for the incredible things we were watching, but sometimes trying to clap for the performers was awkward.

Overall, you should check this out. It was well worth the money and I would absolutely do that exact same show again.

This is the best luau on Oahu. Each person receives a shell lei at entry. You can have either a classic mai tai or non alcoholic fruit drink. They offer to take a group photo with everyone in your party, but photos are $20 each. Before the luau begins, you can make a small flower lei or weave a bamboo headband. There is traditional Hawaiian music while you wait. They demonstrate how the men climb the coconut trees to collect the fruit and show the rosary of ceremony. The food was amazing. The show was very entertaining and educational. We would definitely recommend attending this luau. You must have a military ID or be a guest of someone with a military ID. They also offer gluten free meals.

Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free meals.

Kid-friendliness: They have child portions and the entire event is very family friendly.

Wheelchair accessibility: It's very wheelchair friendly.

we spend an evening here with the family, a nice show and also nice but the food wasn't very good, I was especially interested in trying the poi, and I didn't like it, lomi salmon, with non-existent salmon, only 2 small pieces and all the rest Tomato, and then pork kalua and that too was nothing special, the rest of the food was salad, grilled vegetables, chicken, fish, fruit, taro potatoes and a dessert, but nothing exceptional

The Hale Koa Luau was nice. The pre-show activities were a great touch, the kids got to make some bracelets and play Hawaiian instruments. The entertainment at that time was good too. I also really enjoyed the performances. The dinner left a little to be desired, we booked a sunshine table, but due to the threat of rain, which it did not rain, they moved our table under the covered area..the issue I had with the move was that our table was in the back corner and it just felt very out of the way. The food was ok, it was just kind of set down in front of us with zero explanation or service follow-up. The bar line was super long and took quite a while. We have done a luau on Maui and had an extremely different service experience. The show was excellent, the performers were FANTASTIC! I loved everything about the performance, except the host. Great singer, but his mic was up waaaaaaaay loud. Overall, good experience, but would book another one on Oahu if staying here again. Convenient location if you are staying at the Hale Koa though.

The food was fantastic and the show was excellent. It toucher my heart to see how they honored our military and the fallen. The end of the show with fire was incredible!! Thank you for such a wonderful event!

We brought our son & daughter in law to this luau because we had enjoyed it on a previous visit but unfortunately it was not as good as before. The food was just OK. The teriyaki chicken was overcooked, the Kalua pig was a little dry, not enough salmon in the lomi salmon and the poi was runny. Also, no spoon for the poi?? The show was good, only thing I didn't like was the pink sequin skirts...but I guess most luau's are geared for the tourist. The atmosphere and set up was good. The service was phenomenal! I would recommend leaving the steak out and serving Teriyaki beef instead.

Hard pass on this event: the worst experience at a Luau ever! There are 7 dancers total who do not only the show but all the activities prior. The MC is the worst who sings on and on songs he made when he was 16. Korney and tired conversation to kill time. The food was horrible: over cooked, salty, sweet. At best this was an $80 show…. We actually got up and left when the MC asked those who lost someone in combat to lift up the candle on the table while he sang all verses to proud to be an American.
Good for kids and the dancers were good.
