A wonderful experience! Our table was delightful and our food was delicious. Recommend the caviar and chips.
Why did I not try Dinner service here before?! It's magical. The food, drinks and service is EXCEPTIONAL.
We were seated outside and it is a very nice atmosphere where you are looking over the beach and ocean. It took the server 10min to get to our table. We put in the orders for drinks and appetizers and it took another 10min for drinks to come out and an hour for appetizers. Then we put in the food which came out 30min after the appetizers. The food tastes ok-good but portions are very small and its expensive. We had 5 alcoholic drinks, 3 appetizers, and 5 meals and with gratuity it came to $500. According to them, they weren't as busy as they usually are. I would go there for drinks but not dinner.
Hau Tree Lanai is my favorite beachside restaurant, set next to Kapiolani Park. Get out of the Waikiki traffic and into this calm, relaxing local neighborhood, and enjoy a peaceful outdoor breakfast or lovely sunset dinner. Interesting menu, casual setting, and attentive staff ~ don't miss it! If you're staying at the Kaimana Beach hotel, you still need reservations, including breakfast, so book ahead.
The restaurant was so pretty but the food was okay like not very good , our waiter was not the best, it took a long time to be serve and he was distracted he was not very attentive or friendly . The restaurant is beautiful because all the trees.
The location and service is great, the food not as much.

Food and atmosphere was amazing! Service was trash! Don’t get Zach he was whack! Didn’t greet us or acknowledge us just pour our water and left. Gave me oysters with no spoon, and his comment was like we don’t have any small spoons. So how do I add the sauce on my oyster? Then he majically brought a small spoon.

Nice restaurant but there's no Aloha spirit amongst the staff. There are better places to spend your money.
The food menu was just basic, and not a lot of options unfortunately. However what made me give a good review is because of the atmosphere and the people that worked there. They were so kind. It was my friends birthday, and Jonah was the one who helped us out. He was super kind, and gave off good vibes. I was indecisive, so I asked for his opinion, and I chose the dish he recommended. It was the pasta with sausage, and it was yummy! The Mango whoopsie was a delicious drink. Thank you Jonah and Hau Tree for your making my bestfriend’s birthday magical.

The view is absolutely gorgeous and the drinks are great however, I was disappointed with the food. I had gotten the focaccia bread, hamachi, lamb chop, and orecchiette. The focaccia bread was delicious but a tad over salted. The hamachi is something I wouldn’t order again because I don’t believe the flavors worked well together, the tomatoes overpowered the fish. As for the lamb chops they were perfectly cooked and tender. The orecchiette pasta was decent. Getting the appetizers was relatively quick but getting our main courses took over an hour.

Hau Tree is an amazing location with great views of the sunset over the Pacific and the twinkling Waikiki lights. Service is excellent - attentive without being intrusive.
The food is pretty good but not outstanding. Which is a minus considering the prices.

Great atmosphere and view. But that's about it. The food and service fell very short. It was $35 for a small piece of salmon with no seasoning or flavor and a few green peas. Everything else our group ordered tasted mediocre at best. Had to wait 30 minutes to order another drink and another 15 minutes for it to arrive and at which point we regretted ordering it in the first place.

atmosphere was a vibe. service was poor. waited >30 minutes for food to arrive. server was nice, but rarely checked in on the table. we asked the worker that’m dropped off the food for side plates and his response: “i’ll get your server and let him know your table needs more attention. i’ve got to run out food.”
listen, i was in the restaurant industry for 10+ years. i get it, there are times where its busy, stressful, and sometimes short staffed. regardless, i always ensured that customer satisfaction was the top priority no matter what. however, the food was delicious though!

This restaurant had an excellent sunset view, but I’d like to give Rob, our server, 5 stars as he did an excellent job taking care of us, chatting with us, and provided excellent service and recommendations.
