I used to love this hi-steaks but now the steaks are terribly grissely, the shrimp has gotten smaller and the precious time I ordered it was mushy to the point I couldn't peel the shell off. But tonight? Tonight was the last straw. As I was working my way through my plat (steak-only this time) I bit into some type of extremely gross chemical/floral/soapy/cleaner taste in multiple areas of my rice. Idk if someone's utensils had cleaner on it or they sprayed the counter/grill with cleaner with my plate open around it but either way I had to spit out multiple bites of food (because I kept trying to eat bc I was HUNGRY and kept encountering it).

I've now also washed my mouth out multiple times and that weird taste is sticking, which I'm guessing is a result of it being a chemical.

This will officially be the last time I get hi steaks.

Pretty slow service, unclear instructions, and a warm beer. Steak was decent, but everything else was average at best.

My friend recommended this place in FoodLand at the mall. I am glad my friend told me because the food was beyond good. Broke da lips! So Ono!

Yummy steak and chicken plates we usually get the steak fried rice too. The line is usually pretty quick, sometimes if door dash has a deal we will order ahead to save time 😁

Steak poke bowl is quite good. Had it with the spinach and mushrooms and the spicy sauce.

I come to rhis foodland store all the time and once in awhile, I like to stop and get take outs from Hi-Steaks. I normally get the sirloin, but today I changed and got the keawe smoke meat. Well, it's not what I've expected. The smoke meat did not taste like it at all. It was greasy, tough and too much fat in the meat. I did not like thay at all. Shame

For some reason, this place always seems to be dirty inside. The tables, chairs and walls does not look clean, and I've seen homeless people hangout inside this eatery.

I normally debate on giving restaurant 2 and under stars but I need to put this out there to where it may help the restraint out. The food was really bland. I got the steak and garlic chicken with rice and kimchee Mac salad. The kimchee Mac salad tasted really bad like it wasn’t fresh kimchee at all. The steak was very bland and seemed like it was very cheap. It needs to be at a hot temperature to where it’s juicy not rubbery. The rice was cold and not fresh. The garlic chicken was just a garlic taste and very stale to the touch. It tasted like it had more breading than chicken itself and not at all fresh. I had this same plate a couple years ago and sadly to say it’s the same experience I had and was hoping the restaurant got better but sadly it was the same.

Good for takeout and eating. The steak and garlic shrimp are famous, but I personally found the garlic fried chicken to be delicious and similar to the fried chicken from a Japanese fried chicken restaurant.

Beers were reasonable, but the food is about as good as the Deli at Foodland Farms

This is the purpose of Foodland!High steak! It used to be at the food pantry in Waikiki, but I'm a little disappointed that it's been moved here.I went there twice.I received the standard meat-filled 17$ and garlic shrimp and meat set. I had the sauce with teriyaki. After all, it's a budget trip, so I'm grateful for the large amount of food! There is no free water. Two people can eat it and be full.I used to like the blue cheese dressing, but now I don't have it.I didn't understand English at all because it was so fast, but I managed to do it.

It's still delicious...I've been coming back to it ever since it was at the food pantry in Waikiki. The way the meat is cut, the parts used, the degree of grilling, the teriyaki sauce, the amount of rice... it's suitable for Japanese people. However, the quality has gone down a bit since the Waikiki days, and I'm disappointed that the blue cheese salad dressing is no longer available... Maybe it's just my memory that has been corrected ?Is the store clerk really a tourist? In other words, I feel bullish, so I need to be bullish here as well. He will say "Wow" quickly, so please have a fighting heart and say "Huh?!".This time I had the standard one and the garlic shrimp and meat half and half, and both were delicious! Please be careful as there are flies in the food court! It was so annoying that it came with teriyaki sauce?
