Great local bakery.
Mochi bun: crunchy chewy... like a popover ... but better.
meringue pie: sweet crisp meringue layer over a puff pastry .... soo tasty.
Peanut Streusel/Crumble bun: soft bun with crunchy crumble, perfect balance.

The service is amazing and they serve a curry-filled bread that was one of the most creative and delicious vegetarian savory snacks I've had.
I super recommend the tiramisu cake as well!

Me and another random person came when they were closed but they accidentally left the open sign on lol but the nice korean man let us grab a few bread! Thank you! ☺️
The best bakery in Hawaii. The owner and staff are very friendly and always smiling! I can tell the breads are baked freshly every morning and I will definitely come back!

The cake was amazing. Light fluffy bouncy, not too sweet but just the right amount. Would highly recommend!

I ordered a hello kitty cake and I was in line for a bout an hour and mind you the cake was pre ordered and so I asked where was my cake and they said that they don't know where it went, so when I demanded a cake right now they wanted me to pay again so I left.

Honu bakery has an ono bread. It is called the Honu bread (what they are known for). I like it with coffee or tea for breakfast or just a quick snack. The bread has a light whipped cream with rasins for a filling. It has a very light sweet taste. The only disappointment was the oreo sliced cake. It tasted like plastic. Please try the honu bread. Also, the staff is friendly and helpful when I made a pick up order.

This rating is for some of their items that "shrunk" its size intentionally. I used to like coming here coz they sell bread, desserts and pastries that's reasonably priced but not anymore. I also don't understand how they put raisins in their turtle bread. Like, who does that? I don't get it. Then their egg tarts could use a little bit of improvement coz it's somewhat runny. Service is not bad though. There's also this pastry that only has "air" inside. Ugh!

The "honu" bread is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Fresh baked bread with whipped creamed butter topped with raisins and chesnuts (ithink) topped with sliced almonds and dusted with cheese/cream like toppings.......everytime i come oahu to kapiolani for dr. Ill walk down to king street buy me like 3honus to take home and share!!! They also take ebt/snap!!!
Bread from honu are dry and flat. The smell and shape might look like bread but the texture and taste are not in harmony. This review is not for just one type of bread; it's for all I've tried from honu starting from cake, soboro, redbean, sesameseed, etc. Koreans won't come here.
