My visit to this restaurant left a positive impression. The food, including pig ears and duck and egg drop soup, was delicious, was spicy and well seasoned and promptly served. While the service was basic, the overall experience was satisfying, especially if you appreciate fast and flavorful dishes.

The food was fantastic!!I interrupted a bit while the family was in their own dinner, but they still made me some very nice food. I do visit a lot of authentic Chinese places and also eat very spicy (I have Chinese family…). At first they wanted to suggest certain things from the more moderate Americanised Menü, but i refused and took something from the “specialties” section and had a good choice with some hot chicken with peppers, that had a lot of nice flavours.Happy to return whenever I’m in the area.

This is a place you can get authentic Hunan dishes. We talked to the owner who is from Changde(常德).We are from Changsha. For a family of 4 including a toddler, we ordered 4 dishes that tasted better than what we could get in DMV area in the east coast. We got 1) green peper with pork 2) cumin duck 3) stir fry green (木耳菜)4)green bean with eggplant( my personal favorate)The first page of the menu is for authentic Chinese food. They also have Chinese American options which i am not going to comment;)The rice was delicious as well!!!we came back the second day for lunch and ordered food for dinner. Too many japanese food in Wakiki beach area, my parents prefers Chinese food.Highly recommend it for people who love authentic spicy Chinese food without the Sichuan peper tastes!

Food was *delicious* and the proprietor was delightful. The atmosphere was actually great too - a nice, clean corner hole-in-the-wall with street view. Complete with beer! We will definitely be back.

Went specifically for the lunch specials as advertised in the restaurant window and on menu. Received bill and the price per item was greater than advertised menu price. Cashier/server said prices went up $2 since Covid (its 2023) -- she said there was a note saying this on the menus. There wasn't. Server could not find any menus that had indicated supposed price change. Also said lunch specials were canceled since Covid. No indication of this when I pointed and ordered the lunch special. Very disappointing.

Small hole in the wall, not much to look at visually, but the good was bomb. My wife is from hunan and wanted to try something authentic. Hit the spot. would recommend in a heart beat

Maybe this place tasted good once before but I absolutely HATED IT. It's a shame because the sauces were great! The the meat itself is beyond questionable. Way to expensive. Health inspection needed. Left out items even though full charge. I'd have gotten a refund if I could have gone back. First off the generals chicken was mainly breading sauce and what 6 pieces of chicken were in there were old and I mean old ! It was so old it was stringy and rubbery and not even edible. It was basically straw.. the green beans were acceptable but bland really. I order lunch special and received nothing of the sides. And I was just given "whole orders" where the boxes were half full, smelly, oily, old. Lo mein was oily. Waste of money. My child wasn't happy and refused to eat it. So I ended up cooking anyway. Sorry but not sorry

This place was recommended to us by a China Town gift shop owner. It's authentic and fresh. It wasn't very busy, so service was quick. The spicy dishes are pretty spicy, but they have plenty of mild dishes to choose from. I loved the sesame chicken.

Found this via Meituan Dianping, the Chinese version of Yelp. This place had popping reviews, and I happened to craving spicy Chinese food, so I had to stop by. Both the eggplant and the fu qi fei pian appetizer were quite tasty, worth ordering again. The lamb "dry pot", while tasty, was not dry at all! This came as a surprise, as most dry pots that I've eaten at other Hunan restaurants are, as their name implies, dry and have some combo of potatoes, peppers, celery/cauliflower and the like. The "dry pot" here instead had glass noodles and lamb swimming in a huge pool of chili oil. The other items on their menu (various pork, beef, and chicken) dishes might be interesting to try next time.
