Overall it’s a nice hotel. However it lacked a few basic amenities like a microwave (you can ask for a microwave but there’s a limited quantity).
The biggest downside during our stay was that the elevator was broken. Since there were only two elevators with only one working, it caused so much delay going in and out of the hotel. Lastly parking is valet only, and the lane for car drop off/pick up is the same as the uber rides, which is sometimes very backed up.
Otherwise, the hotel was clean, reliable and cute. The pool and the hot tub were very nice as well.
Adorable boutique hotel in a great location. We really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend. It is in a very walkable location and the hotel restaurant had great food!
Good Stay, But Poor Soundproofing.
The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. My main complaint is that the soundproofing was quite poor. I could hear a lot of noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms. Everything else was great!
The Wayfinder is the best hotel in Waikiki! The interiors are thoughtfully curated creating a stylish and bespoke aesthetic while having all the amenities you would hope to find at a class act hotel including a cutie gym, and a beautiful pool surrounded by lush plant life. The staff are all welcoming and really nice, and the stay comes with a complimentary drink token. It’s very close to the ocean and all that Waikiki has to offer. Love it and can’t wait to be back!
We arrived to check in on November 19 after 10 p.m. The two girls at the reception desk provided terrible, terrible customer service. Their response to questions was, “Google it.” There was no eye contact, and the check-in was so quick that it was obvious they were in a hurry. They were unfriendly and had sour expressions on their faces.
In our room, we found a cockroach and I had an allergic reaction (my allergy is not the hotel's fault), but after bad things, there are always good people who make bad situations better.
I'll start with Dylan (front desk), the only friendly face at the front desk, always smiling and always willing to help. She changed our room because of the cockroaches and my allergy. In the restaurant, Kai served us and was very friendly. You could tell he was happy doing his job. Then there are Kay and Lexy, who were willing to listen to what happened and made our stay much better. These people helped make our honeymoon celebration much better, but the poor service of others can overshadow those who do well. In any case, I am guided more by the good than by the bad.
Suggestion: congratulate those who do well and reward them, and give those who don't provide good service better customer service training.
We had an amazing time! The room was big, comfortable and clean. The staff was delightful and the restaurant was delicious. So close to the beach that you could go walking although we rented a car. Valet personnel was so friendly and nice also super helpful.
Customer service is really good. Friendly staff and good amenities for the price
I stayed at wayfinder for five nights and their customer service was like no other! Rooms were very clean and sanitized. Wayfinder is sitting in the perfect spot. The beach is 5 min walking as well as many stores and restaurants.
From the moment we arrived, we knew this was a special place. The service at this Waikiki hotel is truly 5-star, consistently going above and beyond to make guests feel respected and welcomed.
Every member of the team, from the Front Desk staff to the Valet Parking staff, was incredibly nice, responsible, and helpful—a true blessing given that parking in Waikiki can often be a challenge.
We especially want to recognize Manager Wade, who exemplified outstanding leadership and commitment to guest satisfaction. When we encountered a minor technical issue with the elevator, Wade was immediately on the case, communicating updates and doing everything possible to resolve the matter quickly and professionally.
However, the highlight of our trip was how the team honored our anniversary. Manager Wade went far beyond expectations, arranging beautiful decorations in our room, along with a lovely greeting card and a complimentary bottle of drinks. This level of personalized attention made our celebration truly unforgettable.
Finally, the hotel's on-site restaurant was also a pleasant surprise, offering excellent food and service. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki; the dedicated and respectful staff make all the difference. We will definitely be back!
Great little hotel. Extremely accommodating staff, fairly priced rates for the area, on-site valet for $45/day (with in-and-out privileges) and off-site validated parking for $30 (no in-and-out privileges, and you HAVE to leave and come back once every 24 hours to restart the clock, as your validation is only good for 24 hours), although the latter is about 3-4 blocks away, so if your lugging beach gear or kids around, you may want to pay the extra $15/day to park on-site. Both options can conveniently be charged to your room. The building is a bit on the older side, but well maintained. No funny smells, cracked paint, anything like that, although amenities could use some updating. There is one ice machine that I'm aware of - on the 8th floor, and it's kinda gross. We used it the whole time and didn't die, so it's not the worst, just.. could use updating. One of the elevators was down for our entire 8 night stay, and the one that did work was frustrating. Early in the morning or late at night, it was smooth sailing, but during the day it was always packed, probably over capacity. The door closes super fast, so no time for courtesy - as soon as it opens, dive in! We literally lost one because I tried to allow someone else in first - it's that quick. Also, it's not smart enough to know or care whether someone pushes the up or down call button, so on our ride up to the 10th floor, it would often times stop 2-3 times for people who actually wanted to go down. Add that to the constant housekeeping employees with their huge carts getting off and on (bless their hearts, they do a great job, but literally every elevator trip u ended up with an employee hopping on at one point), made every elevator ride a nuisance. The pool is not heated, and gets little direct sunlight during the day, at least during November, so it was always about 10 degrees colder than I would like. The kind of water you have to ease into and takes your breath away. But it's also cold enough that you never really quite get used to it and find yourself shivering and heading for the hot tub after about 5 minutes, and as a Minnesotan, that's saying something. The hot tub was decent, but only fit about 6 people side by side, and was always full, due in part to the cold pool. We never had a problem getting a spot, but there were generally at least 3-4 other people in there with us. Not the worst thing - made for some good mingling, but if you're the type that wants a nice, quiet soak at the end of the day, it might not be your jam. Lastly, the bed - ouch. It's like a 4 inch thick flimsy mattress on top of a wooden platform. I woke up with sore hips and a raging sciatica every single morning. It's comfy enough at first, until you sink in and are basically laying on plywood by the time you fall asleep. If you have back problems, hip problems, shoulder problems, or are just planning an active vacation like we had, this bed is just not going to do it for you.
I know I did a lot of complaining in my review, but don't get me wrong, despite the above grumbles, we did absolutely adore our stay here, and don't want to discourage anyone thinking about booking. Just want to give everyone a clear picture of what your stay will be like. If you just want to be 3 blocks from the beach, have someone convenient to lay your head down at night, and a phenomenal staff to ensure you enjoy your stay, don't think twice, just book the room. Despite my above complaints, we would definitely consider booking again - the wonderful staff, convenient location, reasonable pricing, and charming rooms certainly outweigh all else.

Very nice refurbished rooms, comfortable. A bit to much road noise for my liking due to it being close the a major road.
This hotel is tiny and broken. There’s no microwave and when I asked the front desk, they said it was $10 per use. That’s absurd and I don’t know if that’s true or if she was messing with me. The toilet was broken in my room. The shower drain was clogged. One of the elevators was broken so it took forever to go up or down using one elevator to service a full 13 floor hotel. The only pro for this hotel is it has free admission to the Bishop Museum.
Excellent service from David Mo and the manager. Nice property.
Lovely and cozy hotel with a great poolside vibe and top notch poke on site.
However - DO NOT RENT THE PENTHOUSE!
The Waikai penthouse should be called the Thunderdome as it is a resonance chamber for the hotel's elevator machinery. All day, all night.
I have very high expectations for hotels due to traveling weekly for work, and this completely blew me away! We will absolutely be back as this is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve listed my absolute favorite parts:
-The location is excellent with about a six minute walk to the beach
-The included breakfast was ordered off of a menu and the options were fantastic (get the Vietnamese coffee!)
-the pool area was wonderful and so were the pool side stretch sessions
-the room was adorable and very comfortable
-the staff was so kind our entire stay
-the front desk provided beach chairs and towels to borrow
I absolutely cannot recommend this enough
